Very much so. These slow updates killed any hype the game had.

This assumes you don't like the game as it sits and need or want updates. I don't want a game like this to change every 3 or 4 months. As it stands, I'm skeptical of the changes actually making the game better.

I am all for expanding, like the two new zone types that haven't been finished yet, or adding more crafting and building recipes... but the games core is pretty solid.

I certainly hope it brings actual content to the game. New areas, new monsters, dungeons, etc. Not just food and decoration stuff.  While that stuff is great and love it, the game needs more content, more stuff to see and do.

Good that the hype has been killed, the hype was utterly ridiculous.

VERY slow updates to the point i gave up waiting. Also this hearth n Home so far doesn't look to be more than maybe a months worth of work.
IDK if these guys do this part time and have other jobs but they don't seem to be working on the game everyday.

1-2 people can accomplish a LOT in 6-7 months,so far it looks like 1 guy putting in maybe 2-3 total work days.
SO we have them messing around with food, not needed, they messed around with rocks, not needed and i expect we will see a few new tiles and not a lot more.Maybe the new hirings will help move things along but they have sooooooooooooo much to catch up on.

Like i went back to playing Atlas and i build ships and sail the waters,in Valheim the ship and the water are boring parts of the game, just a means to move from point A to point B.

Only play a game when it launches, otherwise burnout ensues, I think some people are going to have the shine taken of New World for the same reasons.

Gaming has increasingly become a hobby where fashion rules and we must follow the fashion and jump in when others do. This is leading to gamers being more dissatisfied with gaming than they used to be. Once we only had this with MMOs, now it can effect nearly any game out there with Early Atrophy as I now think of it.

I found this game too hard in the end. Not good at kiting and aiming and in the end multiple deaths and corpse recoveries had me hanging it up for good. I enjoyed it for a good 30 odd hours and definitely worth the 15 Euros I paid.

On a related note, Nexus has a mod that adds classes to the game.

    Like Warlock, Monk, Mage etc..

    Pretty cool

Magic Overhaul at Valheim Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
Check that shit out. I had no idea you can add classes and spells. Awesome.

I dont really agree with this.
I spent 255 hours in Valheim with friends and loved every hour.
'Released' or not the time I had was great.
There are plenty of 'Released' games that have not offered me 255 quality hours of fun for less that $20 USD
It is game by game situation released or not.
A half made cake can be half decent and if the cook is good it can even be tasty, a three quarters made cake is even better and a good cook can make it taste like it was finished, but a finished cake is going to be best...yum yum.

Ok now I have to go and get something to eat. :)

I had to give up cake. It was ending up in my thighs and hips. Adieu cake.

If the game plays like a game it matters not what label is placed on it as early access or released.
This is a misnomer that has been shown to be wrong.
There are scores of examples of titles in a state of 'release' that have more work to do than many early access titles.
Early access is not a blanket label and release is not either.
I'm not going to deny myself fun for the sake of semantics.

Certainly there are many titles that are released that need more work than early access. But we have always had to work out how solid a game is at release, where as it is far harder to work out how solid a game is in EA. Now you can use media attention or friends mentioning it or Steam likes, but we have more of that at launch as well as launch reviews. Also I think it is fair to say that not many EA games get that sort of attention, normally we would be far more uncertain of how good an EA is.

So it was clear to me that Valheim was already a good game, which I could not always say for some of the EA's posters have mentioned on here. But I knew that if I played it I would end up like you are now. So if you are prepared to accept that frustration crack on, I am not. Indeed that's why I often leave titles to the one year, even two year point to make sure I have all the dlc, going back to play a game for a new dlc would annoy me immensely. I would be having hyper levels of frustration going back for a small update.

But each to their own, if it works for players, crack on.

You could quite literally make that exact video for just about every game ever released.
