Indie MMO TitanReach, developed by Australian indie studio Square Root Studios, has paused devleopment on its game, citing a lack of funding as the reason. The studio states that despite opening up credit store last year, as well as the funding achieved through its community the last few months, its funds have 'dried up.'

    They were paying 14-16 developers on a budget of 200k. I wanted to see them succeed and tossed them some money in late 2020. They did good on the 3D modeling / concept side of things- but fell short on the programming / mechanics side. Everyone saw that it wasn't moving forward in the right area's and the support slowly dried up.

    At the very least they are refunding those who bought into the Closed Alpha which became available to purchase on August 9th.

    Another MMO with great concepts and a significant amount of development going south. This may be due to poor business strategy, maybe too many new hires? But then they may have thought 'the more we have to show the more money will come in so lets hire', always a tough call. I hope the staff land on their feet and more innovative MMOs land on their feet, they are few and far between.
