Elyon was delayed earlier this morning, moving into late October, but it wasn't the only announcement Kakao made regarding the MMORPG. The game is now free-to-play, and it's something that Nick thinks will benefit not only the Korean MMO, but its rival, New World.

TYPING IN UPPERCASE WITH AN EXPLANATION POINT PROBABLY MEANS I'M SHOUTING UNREASONABLY!
I don't think SOLO and Crowfall have been doing too well, but I am only getting that info from other forums of old bitter MMO players (not hating, I surely count as well). Bless Unleashed came out on Steam last month and didn't do great (but maybe is doing good enough? 35k player peaks as a F2P title should be enough to keep the doors open, hopefully. Reviews are not being kind though, and I didn't like it much myself). Elyon was going to have a really tough time in this release window even if it was not F2P.
The F2P change and the release date move are both welcome.
Edit: After finally trying the new world beta I am no longer interested in it. At least I do not need to pay to try Elyon, I do appreciate getting to at least see if the game has a decent foundation before paying.
What's an "explanation point"?
I am glad to see I am not the only Editor-in-Chief on these forums.

Reduces the number of burner accounts without creating too much of a barrier to entry I suppose.

Better class of player or better class of games?
It's not worth a box price and I am not sure it's worth the time to DL.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Also the (only) dungeon I've tried was pretty decent.
All in all, depends on how good New World is, I will definitely give it a fair try. When, is in the hands of New World!
PS: I like how humble the Kakao statement is. They really seem to care and as far as I know, they did a pretty good job handling Black Desert. Time will tell how they will manage Elyon.

Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
I was starting to think I was the only person here who liked Elyon. Before the delay, I was planning on buying and playing Elyon over New World. I still liked NW too, but as you said, I really enjoyed the combat in Elyon, and that is what was making it my game of choice. I've always liked games that have large groups of mobs. Even though they aren't any more deadly than single foes, it still makes my character feel more powerful and the combat seems less boring to me.
Was avoiding it anyway. It'll just be even more pay to win now is all.
