Wurm Online is a Sandbox MMO developed by Code Club AB, which re-released on Steam July 24th, with a new player tutorial and UI improvements. While the new player experience is simple and easy to follow, it still leaves much to be desired. But is this game "the ultimate sandbox MMORPG" for new players in 2020... well, yes and no, read on to find out more.

    If I even want try a sandbox mmo I wait for New World instead of Wurm what is look like something from 1990.

    Did they create a new world for the new players? If they are just adding new players to the existing worlds then forget about it. The last time I tried there was zero land left on the server I was on and it was just a fristatrating joke.

    I had asked a friend who just started on Wurm and he said there was a new player world called Harmony I think? He may have been incorrect in it being new but that's what I was told.

    My new player experience: Log in, go through tutorial, pull up the wiki and started going through it step by step. Six hours later, I'm slightly frustrated, but feel like I'm making progress. Dude comes rolling up on his horse and plops a claim marker down right next to my tent (I'm free still so don't have this ability). This means he now owns my mine I've been digging and I need to move all my stuff cuz the land I spent all that time flattening and clearing now belongs to someone else. Uninstalled.

    If you want to play Wurm Online, but are afraid it sounds like a dumpster fire, don't play it.
    If Wurm Online sounds like it could be just the sort of thing you'd enjoy, play Wurm Unlimited instead. You can play those servers for free, start your own, or play in an offline server all by yourself.

    Hold up what? The game has some interesting complexities for those that like that stuff, but the graphics are absolutely ass, not even just old school, just straight ugly even for it's time, past present and future.
