Have you heard of this game New World? I've been playing it semi-obsessively since its release last week. There are so many things I love about it. But there are a bucket-load of things which I believe Amazon must change to improve the experience across the board.
Comments
1. More diversity in mobs while leveling
2. More diversity in questing (this game has some of the dullest questing ever)
3. More diversity in biomes, buildings, towns ecttt. (the entire world feels like it copied and pasted 1 MMO zone for the entire game)
4. A gear sink, crafting heavy games like this need some type gear sink in order to keep materials and crafted gear from just over running the auction houses
5. They just need to add some more damn content. This MMO has good bones, but they basically launched one of the most bare bones I've seen in a long time. This game needed more time to cook
Player mail? That would be fine if it was LOCALIZED... but what you describe (your friend is kilometers apart) would totally break their local economy idea where you have local auction houses, local banking etc... Now whether local banking/auctions are good/bad is a different topic, but simply saying "They need to let me mail stuff across the world" ignores the general concept of the game's local focus.
Reduced Recall? I really do not get this one. The game world is pretty small. It's pretty rare that you will be any more than a couple of minutes from a portal. Then you have the Recall to Inn Function (1 per hour as you say) and then to top THAT off you have HOUSING which gives you another recall (and you have have multiple houses around). And the cherry on top is that you can just pay Azoth to reduce the timer on your house recall...
After playing for just a few hours you have access to the portals (all around the world), the recall and the houses...
For the Pve Player collision part... I don't mind if it was tweaked... but I think you are trying to address a symptom instead of a root cause. A better solution would be to not have mass amounts of players standing around waiting for a quest target to respawn.
Inventory management and quest sharing... sure those are simply QOL improvements they should have had already.
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)

The only one I could see that would have no side effects is quest sharing, finally we need another expression for the game apart from "good bones".
The game may well have "good bones" and "good foundations" but that doesn't change the fact that considering the development time, and the money behind it, it isn't half boring and half baked. You repeat the same quests over and over in copy+paste environments, against copy+paste mobs, using the same 6 skills (3 per wep) the whole time whilst utilising the occasional block or dodge, but most importantly - hammering or holding LMB.
PvP is either a zerg fest, or a level check, and the odd decent 1v1 now and then. You have to get to level 60 to participate in outpost rush so no idea what that is like. Wars have limited slots (50 players per side) so GL getting into them regularly.
Crafting/gathering pretty much becomes spamming the same low tier items forever to get exp, this appears to be true even at higher crafting and gathering tiers.
Apologies for the tangent. I just don't understand the hype (other than newness and twitch). Players say it's because the MMO market is stagnant, and this may be true; however, this game does nothing to solve that. There are plenty of older MMO's that are far more interesting than this, albeit not all of them were great on release, but a few have been more enjoyable than NW even on release. Right now I see little reason to spend time in NW when I could play GWs2, ESO, BDO, FFXIV, even Runescape?!
I would say any joggers/runners/walkers/ramblers out there would enjoy the game, as it certainly has plenty of that going for it if that's your thing. I actually managed to nod off post work whilst running from quest to town, to quest town again. That will teach me for using the auto run key... Walking is actually such a big part of the game that they even have you walk under bodies of water instead of swimming - sorry swimmers, this is not the game for you!
Maybe the game just isn't for me right now.

Ya think?
Player collision is something I never even thought of. Don't care.
Inventory while moving I never thought of. Nice to have I guess, low priority.
Sharing quests can get tricky if not everybody has the requirements met. Would be nice to have.
Reduce recall cooldown would be nice, but not a big deal. I could see that being a skill, perk, potion, etc, that a player has to get.

Meaningful travel is important. If you trivialize travel it really shrinks the game world. Having territory based storage will be an after-thought. Gathering and crafting will, plus taxes, will be majorly affected because everyone would just wait to recall to their hometown inn.
Maybe I should change that sentence to "Maybe I am correct and the game is as lacking as I believe it to be, and everyone is so high on copium and/or being hype sheeple that they still sing its praises... Or maybe the game just isn't for me right now."

Immersion isn't a good enough reason tbh. While it may be funny at times to run by someone and nudge them slightly, it actually slows your momentum down for a bit which is also annoying. I think it's an oversight on their part to be honest and will eventually be fixed. There is a reason why most mmos, have collision turned off, because essentially people can block, push and effect other players pathing negatively. Even in games like SL you can turn it off.
Parkour in this game is also a ton of fun but there is no hidden treasure/easter eggs, not even in sunken boats out in the world which is a real shame for the longevity of the game.
Why no toe tingling world bosses AGS?!
Not being able to have a map open or in the background also makes group questing a hindrance. There are bugs others are mentioning or hopefully fixes coming for things like gems (highest tier less effective than lower tier for example) but just for today it is a dang shame the prettiest house in the game is empty sitting in a zone with a crimson peacock and a big crimson boar that ate my face at level 16.
So many positives also but long story short - purple life, best life.
But it's shameful that a website like this, which is supposed to specialize in MMORPG, has to ask for changes to a game that strives to be "realistic" to turn it into just another generic game.
- Removing collision is... a mistake, collision is great for use in both PVP and PVE battles and gives it a necessarily realistic and immersive feel.
If the writer complains that it took him 3 tries to kill a boss .... it's because he asked to join a party to kill it.
Editor this is a MMORPG, I understand that you are used to current MMOs where you play alone and try to socialize as little as possible, especially outside of dungeons, but here you are encouraged to play in a group and talk to people.
So this is your mistake, not the game's.
- Reducing the cooldown of the inn is ridiculous, the game is not meant for you to be teleporting around all the time making the world dead like in FFXIV.
Another point that makes the writer look ridiculous.
The rest of the points I can understand, but these other two I find embarrassing and it shows the low level that exists in the editorial staff.
The rest however are non issues though a slightly shorter CD on back to inn would be nice...you can however buy yourself a house for more teleport options and use shrines to teleport to towns. Oh one things that annoys me quite a bit is the stupid low storage amount in the shed even if you take all the storage cards it'ss low 1200 lbs is where I am at right now(in windsward at town rep lvl 25) and that is no bloody near enough if you do a few crafting professions.....
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
Great game for those who like crafting simulators and zerg PvP. As for the PvP, they should have taken a few pages out of the Warhammer Online book.
Agree this should be a "Things New World Could Improve for Solo Players Early in The Game"
I'm so happy we have a very pvp & crafting centric company to share stuff with but still 2 maxed sheds and its a juggle struggle
