Its really a tutorial to level 40 in my expereince ..
And if fun is the goal Elyon has delivered
One of the biggest pluses for me which you did not mention is the depth of class customization which is really really deep .. Otherwise nice write up ... and fair ..
For crafting for me ive just been grinding out the base materials and either selling them for a nice profit and housing tokens for house upgrades to the NPC right outside your shop or the Trade Post board which you can set delivery at risk to raiders for higher profits .. Pretty cool little way to make gold .. The Treasure Maps are also nice ..Take 10 greens and fuse them to a Purple will yield about 130k ..
Ye normal mobs( Mobs in Elyon are hostile aggresive sort , not the chickens and bunnies decorating the landscape) are kinda of predicatable but what game is not .. But the bosses in Dungeons and world bosses which there are many have lots of mechainics..
I really like that you can farm an area and get the item to summon the World Boss .. and call your realm or clan to come help out .. Very cool ..
wrote this another thread ..
Just hit 40 in Elyon , the combat is pretty fun , the class customization is top notch , Sooo many ways to tweak and differentiate yourself ..
The RvR is also well done .. Housing is nice and crafting makes money, you can even ship products to other NPCs across the conitient for profit at risk from raiders ..
and Yes there are houses in the open world and its really nicely done and does not effect gameplay .. .. you can also have your house outside of the open world on a floating island ..
Dungeon runs are fun and worthwhile, there is alot of variation here..
Many many clever mini games spread across the game play ..
Fun grinding game .. just settle into a spot and pull mobs all you want if thats your game ..
Elyon plays beautifly on my RTX 2080 and 70 with i9 and i7, I chose the intense setting and everything max. Nothing has lagged, no hic up, and no desync as in BDO melee pvp. Biggest surprise is the fun group pvp which I had neglected after years of solo BDO grind.
fyi, New World group and faction pvp is also fun af, but I prefered Elyon steampunk vibe. But yea, I ignored the biased reviews and gave Elyon a go and I'm staying.
The biggest problems i have are: 1) graphic is pretty outdated and farming area always crowded. 2) too many currencies and items that are extremely hard to keep track of what is for what.
I jumped in for an hour but that was it so didn't really play it enough to talk about it yet. It'll be in my next update though.
Very weird, its unreal engine 3 and plays great even on very old hardware from what I have seen
GAME TIL YOU DIE!!!!
Yeah I heard this and it just ran badly. I don't get why. Maybe it was because I still was in the starter zone. There were so many players running around.
I don't disagree with the review itself. It's just written poorly, and way to long for an in progress report on a game.
tl;dr Having fun killing things, check in with ya again later.
