Pretty skeptical of AGS telling us how things work , when it seems they have a habit of making things not work more than actually work..

So, someone found a way to exploit a bug?  That happens to every game.  The real question is what is going to happen to those who exploited this?

I have not seen anyone banned for abusing exploits. I saw post saying they were going to ban the people that abused the last gold exploit but have yet to see anyone that took advantage of it actually punished. I know several who did this themselves, no consequences whatsoever.

People abusing the hatchet exploit or the Life staff turret macro, duping etc, nobody is being punished for anything.... at least from the players I personally know and have encountered/reported myself.

The FUTURE of New World is BLEAK Maybe they just need to shut it down for bit, hire some testers, fix, then launch.

I still like the game. The bugs I've encountered are not game breaking. I'm still hoping for the best for this game.

I kind of stopped playing after the html thing. Did they fix that or not yet? That one sounded a little too dangerous for me given the potential of it.

They are just a bunch of amateurs. What did people expect?

There are so many issues in this game, so many design mistakes you would have thought would not be repeated again this day and age.

This example of running this client side is just the icing on the cake of stupidity.

Just what hackers need an explanation of how sever/client authority works. :)

There's going to be bugs, we really are in the realm now of the gaming media reporting anything "newsworthy", that is negative (because negative sells better) about NW. If one of their developers posted on that foundation of good journalism social media, that their morning coffee from 'Amazon' left a bad taste in their mouth we would get a report about it.

Let's make this clear, this a (was) a bug that PLAYERS were using to EXPLOIT. While it is correct to put the responsibility of fixing the bug on AGS, it is THE PLAYERS EXPLOITING that should be dealt with. Yelling at AGS is mostly an attempt to head fake the audience away from those using the exploit.

    Meh

    Its a tough job.

I’ll give them all the time they need, no skin off my ass, I can jump back in anytime.

Hopefully they have some really talented guys there who can get the kinks out.

I have a lag bug that kicks me out after 5-10 minutes of playing, so currently the game is very unplayable for me.

It's not only a bug it got more in game content problem. This is the first mmo I play if I open my bug it cancel your skill and it stop you from running. Also you can't open your bug while in the water. Doesn't feel a triple A mmo the game no water physic and swimming. Better Archeage than this even it is not a triple A mmo people enjoying for a few month and some year. The questing of this New World it is worst than Archeage daily because you can back to back the quest all they without a limit.

This is technically inaccurate given the nature of the game as an MMO. Particularly around gold generation and item duplication exploits.

If they're not removed the exploits would impact inflation, for example, making things more expensive even for those that didn't use the bugs. Similarly, those that take advantage of gold duplication might decide to do things such as max out their crafts by buying out all the resources up for trade potentially reducing availability and increasing demand, again increasing costs.

The impacts aren't necessarily limited to negative, you could turn a decent profit in that sort of situation but it accelerates inflation and the individuals are indirectly benefitting from bug exploits.
The town upgrade exploits seem likely to have similarly tangential benefits, exploits that impact wars could change who actually wins them, etc.

That there is going to be bugs doesn't inform as to the extent and nature of them. It is newsworthy, especially on a site that covers MMORPGs. There will be some as of yet considering but not yet committed to buying the game. They should be able to make an informed decision. It's not as though issues other games are going through are hushed up, at least those with some degree of popularity.

NW isn't a Golden Child. It doesn't merit special protection from negative coverage. Issues the game has should be reported. The issues resolved should be as well, as that happens.

I do not see how we need coverage of every issue, clearly it is buggy, but every bug? When someone works out how to get an even massively bigger sausage online in the chat box would you want that to get its own article? Also each item is covered like it is a show stopper, is that good reporting? Finally an article about how somebody somewhere is still enjoying the game occasionally would be welcomed, it is not a Red headed step child either.

At this point, after all these reported flaws, how will Amazon react?  Almost all companies advocate that falsehoods in the job application process is grounds for immediate dismissal.  Producing such an amateurish effort certainly makes it appear from the outside that some developer resumes were heavily doctored.

Amazon management, the ball is in your court.

same problem as usual. The money people decide who produces a game just like they decide who produces a movie or a tv show. This often bites them in the ass, because these are usually not the best people for the job, but they don't care because its a make work project anyway and no matter how shitty it is people will buy it up.

    doctored resumes lol.....
