I'm not for console wars but PS5 is the best gaming device available, period. The haptic feedback is amazing and as an RPG and Action-adventure player, it has far better exclusives. They have been a lot of great studios and their lineup is phenomenal.

There is only one game on Xbox that ps5 won't be getting which is Starfield, but I'll gladly skip or just play it on PC

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS, too.

If you already own a PC you won't be getting anything extra from your Xbox, just the same games on another platform.

Needless to say Xbox is also a great platform.

Game pass is great but so are ps plus and ps now.

I emphasize, haptic and 3d audio has taken the gaming to the next level. They are very amazing, you can't know what I mean unless you see it for yourself.

Haptic isn't just about feedback from shooting a gun. You would even feel the surface that you're character is walking on. I'm sure next Gen games are going to do amazing stuff with it.

Gamepass Ultimate and an almost full backwards Xbox library AND free next gen upgrades of current games made Xbox a winner for me. Currently on Doom Eternal @60fps/4k with raytracing, what a glorious spectacle that is…. Ohh, and free HDR filter for all older games as well.

I chose an xbox series x most of my friends play on xbox so that was a big deal the other thing is I own a ps4 and honestly I didnt play it as much as I thought I would that also helped inform my choice. Now3 that xbox owns bethesda that is a big factor for me also.
I love my series x and it has a ton of games out for it don't buy into that it has no games nonsense. They are behind playstation in some of the owned studio games out right now  but their closing in like a freight train and honestly I have no interest in some of the ps games like god of war. In  three years xbox will have released Forza, Forza horizon, halo, starfield, and probably fable plus other ones those are all games I will play. So chose the one that has the features you like its no problem if you like ps over xbox do what excites you the most.

Yeah, it is an unbelievable spectacle on all levels, my god it is good and gorgeous. That game has you ‘in the zone’ ALL the time and runs flawless on series X, extremely impressed. The free X/S upgrades on MK11, Scarlet Nexus, Samurai Shodown, Vermintide 2 and the amazing Judgment sealed the deal.

Ohh, and the Xbox environment is the ONLY place I can play the OG versions of Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden 2, a no brainer really. My wife wasn’t impressed with any of it, until she saw the Fable trilogy on Gamepass and heard there was a new one in development. Everybody happy.

For me PS5, I got it!! Most friends/family has a PS4, kids have a PS4 pro, so most of the games I buy digital they can play on the pro and we can battle online. Jpn games, exclusive Sony attracts me more than Xbox and most Xbox will also launch at the same time for PC?

i went with xbox over ps.  I had to decide as i also want to use for racing sims and wheels only work on one or the other typically.
i went with xbox due to xbox ultimate and the fact that i can buy once and play on both pc and console if i want (at least for some titles)

Or you could just get a PC and throw away these worries about which console is better? ;)

OK you got me. OP said "Since I already have a decent PC"...

Trying to process this, he has a PC and he also wants a console? Still trying to work it out, a good PC as well and he wants a console? I am going to have to have a lie down now, this was too much for me.  :)

Oh I suppose I will have to answer this seriously, even I can do enough console wind ups.

It was before in my eyes, more xbox titles were on the PC, the PS was the natural choice. But the landscape is changing, since quite a few console titles have been put on Steam often remastered I am seeing a windfall, while consoles are punchier now. Meanwhile I think the PC may become increasingly reliant on processor intensive methods like ray tracing to stay ahead. Anyway if a console is your bag, buy it.

A year ago, I thought it was a slam dunk for PS5.  I'm not so sure now.  I haven't played either, but I like the idea of the PS5 controller and I have more PS4 games than I know what to do with, so PS5 seemed like the obvious choice.

Now, Xbox has Fable coming and Elder Scrolls exclusivity and I'm not so sure.  I like the PC mods on Elder Scrolls, but I prefer playing on the couch as I cut my teeth on Morrowind on the Xbox.  Game Pass makes the idea of giving up access to my PS4 library not sting as bad.  If it's anything like on Windows, Auto HDR is really nice.  Not to mention that currently a lot of multiplats are loading faster and performing better on Xbox SX right now.  This could change, but it didn't last gen until the mid-gen refresh.

I don't know that there's a choice ATM that will either hugely disappoint anyone or leave you completely FOMO-free.

I ended up getting an Xbox series x because of the ability to sideload retroarch.  If I had to compare the two consoles’ non-emulation content, it’s a slam dunk for ps5.  Not even close for me.  Game pass feels like it’s living off the promise of future games right now.  Monster hunter rise, high on life and the persona remasters are cool, but they aren’t enough to make it wildly better than ps plus.

The games with gold have been complete junk compared to ps plus since October.

I never used it, but everyone who has raves about the ps 5 haptics.  I prefer Xbox staggered thumb sticks, but Xbox needs at least an upgraded elite controller.

being able to emulate everything up to and including dolphin in 4k on series x is really really great!

I have a PC, switch for my daughter,  family PS5, and just picked up the X box X.  I think it comes down to personal preference.  Game pass is great and alot of games have cross save with PC.  I prefer the PS5 exclusives i like horizon and god of war, but now some PS5 games are making it to PC.  Game Pass has some big name day 1 titles available  so i think it has the edge over PS Plus.  I haven't messed too much with the entertainment aspect of the XBox, but it seems to have more apps available than PS5.  I play mostly on the PC, my GF hogs the PS5, and my daughter has been stealing the Xbox so i got kicked back to PC anyways
