I agree that it is not yet worth its price. But that is only a matter of time in my opinion. I have spoken to the developers; they are fully aware and open about that FSR is not yet where they want it to be.

And no, I don't think FSR will become F2P. As far as I understand it, they will add feature after feature until they can justify the price. After that, cosmetics will be available for purchase in the in-game shop.

This may sound like an excuse, but FSR has not been released yet. At the moment the game is still in the (very) EA on Steam. Also, I don't think it's that unusual for indie games to sell well after a bumpy EA launch.

To be honest, I ask myself the same question. One answer that seems plausible to me, and which CSE themselves have also pointed out, is that at the moment it is simply a matter of gaining experience in dealing with a release, bug fixes, support, etc.

To be honest, I think they knew very well what was coming. And no, there was probably no pressure from the investors. At least that's not the impression you get when you talk to the developers... and that would also contradict the fact that they planned at least a year (and longer) for FSR's EA.

I also recall they were looking for player feedback as they developed. Trick is to get enough people to play it first.

One poster's feedback was they should have included bots to join the player side in the event not many other folks joined in which I thought was brilliant, and wouldn't be very hard to do as they have tested with "hundreds" of bots previously in CU.

Let's see if they actually react to the idea.

This really reminds me of what happened with Ashes of Creation's failed BR "product", Apocalypse, which they took down fairly quickly saying the "testing" was over. (Made you look?)

Perhaps developers should choose more positive names for their products and stop with the negative references to doomsday?

Also, I'm all for developer transparency but I question the wisdom of selling anything in Steam even in early access while basically stating there isn't enough funding to create a reasonably complete game.

Potential customers will look at the current numbers and take a pass not wanting to commit until others make it happen.

They might have been more successful had it been free to play, or stupidily cheap while in it's presently very incomplete state, under $5 for sure.

$19.99 is just way too high, much better early access games like Foxhole have been available for $14.99 or even less during sales.

Funny... but sadly believable.

But again... what good does the NDA do? The press has been brutal. One of the last sites to even stay neutral on the project recently had a blowup with MJ and now has the pitchforks out as well (Massively).

The worst that happens? Players post videos of the game to show their view of how bad it is. That is no worse than what we have today and might be better because sometimes the unknown is worse than the concrete.

At least, MAYBE... there would be some discussion. What we have now is total and utter apathy. That is the worst place a game can be (See Final Stand: Ragnarok)

As for Crowfall, you were one of those Ivory Tower DAOC players that cried that that the imbalance for the game was what would make it good and that it would be fixed by a large number of players, and then tried to go play this supposedly large scale Open World PvP War Game with a 9 person guild, and then cried that large guilds were killing the game.

You also seem to not grasp the idea of coverage in PvP wargames, so, if anyone wanted advance on how to make a game, or what would be good for a game, you are somewhere on the bottom of the list.

Again though: What is out there now is that there is no game, and that what little was developed is an unplayable mess with no completed game loops. That is the general perception and that is why most people have utter apathy towards it.

I have not logged into the game in a LOOONG time but I cannot believe that reception to what exists could be any worse than what he has now. At worst it... confirms what is believed? At best people say "Needs work sure but THIS specific thing or THAT specific thing look kind of cool.

Right now it's on the Last Stand: Ragnarok path.

That's the thing, they don't gain anything by lifting it, so they have no reason to do so.

They don't. There is no way they are going to drop the NDA on this. The last news letter almost 9 years in was concept art and sounds.

The second game they tried got released in early access with 3 players.

This is a dumpster fire with wet wool socks, old diapers and a dead raccoon with gas on it. Getting rid of the NDA is basically asking to open the lid.

I would say this is another Crowfall in the making but that would be being mean to Crowfall which actually launched.

Not only do I agree with Ungood that this is silly I would add the Jameson "Are you serious?" meme
