I dont pvp yet so the stability (or lag?) issues aren't ruining anything for me- however i understand that a lot of players are frustrated about this issue
They address stability issue is this development update. They have been in a year of updating their servers but have been plegued by hardware shortages. What they expected to have been done by now is still many months away from having the resources they need.
I do agree, this is long overdue but what we have been facing over the past 2 years, does need understanding.
They tried overhauling the combat and the people playing threw a giant fit so it is not as easy as just saying change the combat you have people who have been playing this way since day one and any change is going to be frowned on.
Everything is voice acted which is all well and good.
But what everyone seems to like is the story. I find the storytelling in ESO subpar. Maybe its just me but the world and story just dont click for some reason. I play for a month or 2 then give up.
And yes i like the ES setting been playing since Arena.
Have not yet though. Maybe there is hope?
Nah there is really none for me or the human race.

The Sword Singers and the Redguard lore is really deep. But to really do it justice they need to do a new racial passives update. eso's racial passives do not match the lore of any of the races.
Match retail WOW? Lulz, there's a game which can't bleed players fast enough, it's refugees are flooding other MMOs these days.

To me it's simple: make the overland content more difficult. I think it would be fine to also change the combat to get rid of the animation cancelling, but the thing which really keeps me away is the absurdly easy difficulty level in the open world. You can just stand in a group of enemies and afk while they peck away at you, and you won't die. It's that bad. But this complaint is nothing new, i know. I guess that I'm just sad because it's otherwise a fantastic MMO. The lack of difficulty undermines all progression in the game, as there really isn't much point, when even a healer build can one-click their way through everything.
I'm thinking Imperial due to the political intrigue, but with you mentioning Redguard I remembered they have political factions so you could well be right.
ESO is surviving just fine, and being more WoW in any way whatsoever is definitely not needed. People that want what WoW feels like have plenty of that available elsewhere, even for those that prefer to no longer get it directly from the source.
Sorcerers can be pretty durable early on, and should provide an easy introduction to the game if you use the summons.
You can have good DOT aoe, a damage shield, a resistance debuff for hard targets, and self-healing early on with a mix of class and Destruction staff abilities.
