Its kind of odd that they ended up going this route but I suppose it was inevitable given how rough the launch was received. Or maybe it was writing on the wall since I do believe they sold their engine or something while the game was in development? Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that. I guess only time will tell how things will turn out.

Seems as if this small mobile (card) game maker has been bailing out several games this year.

"So, who are Monumental? They're a small mobile game team based in Austin, Texas, who have 3 games under their belt: Looty DungeonLittle Alchemist, and Storm Wars, the latter two of which are in the Card Game genre. We'll have to wait and see what they do with Mythgard."

"Mythgard just posted a very interesting and exciting announcement! The rights for the game will be transferred to Monumental Games, who will continue development on the game. This news comes to us just a little over 3 months after it was announced the game was going into maintenance mode following money problems for Rhino Games"

Allow someone else to eat all the upfront costs/bad reputation/etc. and then come in for the fire sale and pick up a bargain.

Fix all the stupid shit and turn a profit?

I look forward to their next purchases: New World, Star Citizen.

Amazon has more than enough money to keep New World going if they want to. So does RSI at this point. ArtCraft def did not... RSI, ACE and apparently Monumental are all Austin based companies. Richard Garriot's SOTA Portalarium studio was also Austin based. Lots of bad MMOs / vaporware coming out of Austin lately :/

Well, Artcraft itself may not be involved anymore, but it looks like the Crowfall team has been acquired too and will keep working on the game.

I'm glad I sold my Kickstarter pack for a small profit last year ... Had a longer feeling the game was going nowhere told a people they wouldn't believe me, 1 of the major problems was the combat feeling definitely not smooth very very clunky !

ArtCraft spend years making Crowfall and the result was not a cohesive and fluid game but more a mish-mash of completely different systems and mechanics smashed together into a disjointed and unintuitive "game"

Unfortunately for Crowfall and the Kickstarter backers, ArtCraft forgot one vital piece to game making... they forgot to include the FUN! Crowfall was far and away the most boing MMORPG I have ever tried to play. As stated, the game was a Frankenstein monster of different systems and mechanics that did not fit well together. Playing the game felt more like a series of unrelated tasks than an actual immersive MMORPG.

ArtCraft made a Frankenstein monster of an MMORPG, they just forgot to put in the heart.

Are you kidding. Amazon is notorious for developing very expensive games, launching them, and closing them after 1 month becuse they "underperformed".

In fact New World is last game they are keeping alive, and suprisingly still did not close...

I feel like its coming though. Soon. I expect by April for Amazon to cancel New World. Game is down to 100k daily users and as of right now is only being played by 60k

Those numbers are simultaneous users, not daily.

If for example the game has average of 80K simultaneous players and they each play average of 4 hours, then that'd mean 480K daily players.

New World is still doing fine population wise, even if the population is dropping really rapidly.

So CF is going to be turned into a mobile game and who knows what will happen the the PC version.

Can I make a suggestion for the site, which they may already be well aware of. Obviously every studio wants you to go through their "PR contact" but doing that you will hardly ever find anything out. Take them out for lunch and put some wine down them, I found that always works wonders. :)

Seeing as though it has been mismanaged as hell and its potential never realized.....GREAT!

There is a great game here somewhere, hopefully this group will bring it out.

Could not disagree more. With the right changes this game has potential to be really good. Just because it isn't your thing doesn't mean it isn't a thing.

Its a shame, I really feel like New World had a lot of potential but there are so many really bad decisions they made. They realised too late that a hardcore pvp game is never going to hit it big, because the majority don't want that but their switch to pve amounted to too little, too soon. I do think its a shame though, there were a lot of aspects about New World I liked, though I feel like for a game with so few weapon choices/skills, its so badly balanced even compared to games like DDO with a massive amount of possibilities for builds.
