The other day I made mention of a person whos a part of The Red Village community and also Axie. He gave his portion of the scholarship program back to those who scholared in the Philipines with his Axies.
This is a great example of the decentralized power regular people gain from blockchain and crypto. Just a few years ago, all though doable it wasn't practical for people, let alone gamers to do this type of thing.
People wanting to donate would have had to give all their information, and credit card to some anonymous person with a credit card reader and bank account set up for processing. The person collecting would have to document each incoming transaction, then redistibute and document the funds on an individual bases to each person via their banks if they had one.
Now people wanting to donate send to a wallet, and those funds are redistbuted directly to those in need. In the case of the guy with the schorship program. Just send the funds directly to his scholors wallet.
Games have long been the gateway to new technology. Seeing p2e gamers at the tip of this is pretty damn cool.
