Sony continues to struggle against the ongoing chip shortages plaguing many industries.

Will likely fall short of their first quarter target by around a million units.

Maybe in 2023 I can finally dance on the dark side.

At least son is having a blast with his PS5 that he managed to snag right before Christmas.

Maybe mmorpg.com will gift you a PS5 for being an invaluable contributor to every important discussion surrounding mmorpg's in the last 15 years?

I'd vote yes and throw in a few bucks if necessary :)

Iam not press for a PS5. I am a large scale multiplayer gamer. There aren't any big large scale multiplayer titles on the PS5.  I also like VR, but I will wait to see how PSVR2 pan out. They should drop a standalone headset to go parallel to the PS5 tethered version.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed for 2023, 2022 won't be a good year for supply shortages.

If I can find a fat PS5 i'll definitelly buy it, but i'm honestly hoping they start thinking about slim models. Component shortage is the perfect excuse to use less materials altogether IMO.

I snagged Xbox Series S around Christmas and was skeptical of it, but hot damn is that little machine a powerhouse. Don't know how it will do in the long run as games get more power heavy but as of right now its a great to dip your toes into next gen and you can find one on Bestbuy always in stock. At least mostly.

I am hoping to pick up a PS5 however during tax return season as that is usually fun money.

I had the option for either from Sony direct sale, but I chose digital. Looks better and I prefer a digital library now, easier to keep, and sales have been really great.

Get something new for your PC until then, earphones (which I would not get), I swear by a mechanical keyboard, good mouse that sort of thing? If your happy with your set up as one of our posters once said on here "I guess the wife can get herself a new handbag." :)

Playing god of war on pc but must say it's almost indenctical as PS5!!!

I prefer both digital and disk. Sometimes there are some good disk deals on various websites and buy used games is always a plus. And when finished with the game you can sell it or give it to a friend.

Found a god of war 100% save so now I'm playing the pc version new game plus with blades of chaos!!

I want better GPU for a decent price.... But guess 5700xt is still decent for 1440p.

When is enough ever enough? You can always justify a new upgrade, but is it really needed?

Totally agree. Why upgrade anything when there is nothing decent out. Maybe im too picky or too old or both!

I got 2 PS5s a couple months after launch.   Took a bit of work but was not that difficult.   Best advice is to target the bundles.   Seems like scalpers don't buy them as quickly.   There are various places to watch for stock drops

That's driven by die shrinks, and even AMD's higher end, high margin parts haven't done a real shrink yet.  Low margin console parts don't get a die shrink until the node is older and more mature.  Think 2024 or so for that, assuming that the next part would be on TSMC 5 nm.

That sucks, Kyleran. I've been hearing about the units being snatched up as quickly as they come off of the lines, many times by scalpers :(

I take it that the controllers are easily available? I'm assuming you play with a controller :)

    - Al

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.
