its not really my thing but i'm farting around with a sorceress since its free. Like sanitized Grim Dawn meets final fantasy. I find it a little bland but I might pick at it.
I am terrible at games where I have to rely on myself to avoid attacks. The gunlancer can take a beating and has this amazing shield you can turn on and still fight with inside of it. It's remarkably satisfying to jump and land on foes and beat them to a pulp with my lance then shoot at them too.
I've been sticking with the sorceress for a good bit and it might be my main until something new comes out, especially when you get to the level 26 part of the main story quest, omg its so much fun during that part! If anyone feels like the game is boring or whatever, at least stick it out to that part in the story just to experience that bit and you wont regret it.

Exactly my reasons, great class for those of us whose reflexes aren't really up for a lot of "skip and move" game play.
Not to mention, a terrific level 3 tripod attack that does a fabulous amount of AOE lightning damage.
Overland mob killing involves running around to gather a bunch of mobs together, then "boom, headshot", everything on the screen instantly gets incinerated, except maybe one tougher boss like mob who gets quickly stomped, bashed and shot into pieces.

I'm a cool cat so obviously I'm playing only the coolest class which is Berserker, Paladin, Gunlancer, Striker, Wardancer, Scrapper, Soulfist, Gunslinger, Artillerist, Deadeye, Sharpshooter, Bard, Sorceress, Shadow hunter, Death blade, and all the future classes.

I am the original "cool cat" who will certainly play some of those, just well behind you.
Artillerist is probably my next choice. I just have a thing for classes with big guns.
Paladin would be my go to for support, bards look a bit too mobile / complex for me to play well.

Yes sir, I'm sorry sir, you are indeed the one and only cool cat. I don't what came over me. Please punish me so I won't make this mistake again.
A man from Florida who likes big guns... Shocking!!
Paladin is actually pretty bad ass. It is a tank that does a lot of damage. I especially like this ability that you can hold and he starts fucking running over everything.

BTW you can get two max levels characters for free when you finish the game with one.

Paladin is my next class that I will try today. As for Bard it is a class where you have to move around and avoid contact but its entire skill set seems to be designed around that play style. Even the basic attack has a stun / knockback effect. Took me alot of getting use to but now I am starting to learn combos and it is becoming almost like muscle memory. As the 1st class that I have tried I really like it.
Gunlancer as well. Is one of the most Balanced Classes in the game.
I'm thinking of making a Gunslinger as a second class or WarDancer. We shall see!

Been playing a sharpshooter since the drone class isn't in NA yet. I also tried out Sorceress and they feel pretty overpowered (one aoe kills like 95% of enemies it's crazy)
From what I'm hearing though, alts are a great benefit in this game to help progress your main faster through resource funneling, so I do have an art/shadow hunter/paladin on standby and saving a couple of slots incase AGS doesn't give them when new subclasses come out.
Tried some other classes but ended up on playing the Shadow Hunter as my 2nd class. Going to rock with the Bard and Shadow Hunter combo for now until I get deeper into the game and really understand how everyhting works.

Artillerist now
Paladin later
Absolutely hating Bard

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
