It is absolutely in the best place it's been.

They already have mentioned they want to fix the drop rate on the crafting materials and that they're aware of the UI issues and are working on fixes for that as well. They really knocked it out of the park with this release.

I'm having the most fun I've had in Destiny.

I don't know if this was introduced in a previous expansion, but one new QOL addition for me was the fact they got rid of "normal" ammo drops. That is for your kinetic and energy weapons that do not use special ammo the ammo count simply shows the infinity symbol and the game no longer drops ammo of those types. I guess they finally figured out that running out of ammo sucks in a big way and severely limited the usefulness of high fire rate/low damage per round weapons like SMG's and auto rifles. Anyway, whenever that got added I really appreciated it as a returning player. This is a really fun expac so far!

Do they still remove content you paid for from the game?

    Yes they still do.

And to add insult to injury they will also ban Steamdeck users due to "opportunities for cheating on linux OS"... a bunch of hypocrites is what they are when they fully suport FreeBSD on Playstation but are not OK with enabling Battle Eye to load on Linux and now Steamdeck.
