The bots have zero impact on me personally and it's to be expected with a F2P game that's been out this long.
I'm usually noticing that kind of stuff, but I don't remember seeing a single bot in the game.
I don't notice because I don't really look at the players. May be that is why I don't see them. So many players it is not possible for me to see who or what they are.
I like the game a lot.
If you don't like it that is fine. Don't feign ignorance in a veiled attempt at contempt that somehow is suppose to explain your superior taste in games.
Korrigan has mentioned multiple times he enjoys the game.
Plus I don't see how your post makes sense. His post would be something that's used in defense of the game, as in: if you do not notice the bots they do not affect your playing it.
That looked like I was directing it at him. I should have have mentioned that it was at the others in the thread.
First part was in reply to what he wrote. The rest was me ranting at others.
Does not make sense that it was directed at him. Surely when a person writes in a thread not everything they post is directed at the person you quote although I suppose it might but common sense should show you it is not. That has to be explained is it ?
That's nothing, I have twice posted on here thinking the thread was about a different KS MMO, the first time someone did query if I had the right game, the second no one even noticed.
There are a lot of gold spam bots. I have not seen other bots, but i haven't been running around in low level areas much. My server is always "good" and never "busy", but i have had almost instant queues for whatever i was doing. I would even group the main quest dungeons when leveling
The game is fun. But I do see more bots than players. I seen speed hack, players going through walls all sort of things. The good thing. It does not affect my gameplay. Its annoying but that's it.
I need to give this game another go. I got to level 25 or 30 and it was just sooooo linear that I got bored and just walked away. Yes I realize 1-50 is supposed to be a tutorial, but damn it's a really boring tutorial.
Anyone saying bots aren't a problem might want to take a trip to other servers. Some of the bigger West coast servers they are an issue. I see a crap ton of them piled up in clusters at main city ports auto-pathing through cities in chains. I find it funny how real players were getting DCd yesterday tying to do content, but bots seemed to never get kicked. Plus the gold farming is driving conversion rate of currency through the roof; again on my server.
Just curious, how do the bots impact you, in some negative fashion.
I've not noticed them, no one has run by me using a speed hack, but even if they did, why would I care?
You don't, you don't care. You're a casual player and I understand it. You have every right to be so.
Impact? Nothing. The market is perfect the way it is right now, I even think they should raise 200% tax rating just to get even better. Sorry for the inconvenience, it's my fault. I should start investing money to pay the gold influx. Amazon is such a good company, I don't know why I don't transfer all my paychek directly to them. https://forums.playlostark.com/t/video-botting-is-just-extremely-out-of-control/240174
To say there are more bots than real players is a huge exaggeration. The overall figures may be inflated by some bots but as Kyleran says they are fairly rare. I've only come across them in game on a few occasions. The gold selling chat messages are a different matter and very common of course but I generally find them when I first login to the game. I report them immediately, which also blocks them and rarely see any more even after a couple of hours of play.
What do you consider players? The value in DB that says how many accounts there are currently registered? Cause if that's so we have a very big problem here.
I love the game
Dude the game hits 800-900k players daily and you are over here saying they are mostly bots. Give it a rest bro. Let the game be a success. Even if you don't like it, you should be happy that a big new MMO has released to great success. This is good for everyone. There are plenty of bots for sure, but it is not any worse then most free to play MMOs when it comes to bots. Even if half the playerbase was bots 500k daily players is lightyears ahead of most (maybe alll) modern day MMOs out there.
For every single answer I've given above, I hope everyone get's the irony and don't take it badly.
English is not my first language so I'm sorry for any mistyping.
But a player should never be a fan or an hater of any game ever. You should always have an opinion, you should always have something good and bad to say.
Game devs are not perfect and publishers even less. Being on a defensive point of view in a game that have real problems is to accept capitalism brain wash. Also being on a ragefull hate on a gama that at least offers a fun factor is just being an ass****. I'm not any of those extremes and I've explained my point of view.
There are solid profs, do you accept it or not, it's your choice but never neglect the reality.
Again, I'm sorry for my english.
I also think the game is good. It's a lot like Diablo style which I played a lot for many years. No problem with bots as they haven't interfered with my gameplay as they have in other games. I'm around the middle of leveling as I jump from alt to alt for five or more levels as opposed to focusing on one at a time. So far very enjoyable game.

Look closely in low level areas. Although I have seen some 50's already. The majority are sorceress or berserker. Some of them are running faster than a mount and some are in groups of 2 to 5 characters same class. Usually they have the same gear.

There are currently more bots than active players online. Who am I to say this? No one, you can see by yourself, just go to Lost Ark Forums or get inside the game between Luterra and Vern MSQ, just chill around any MSQ NPC for around 5 minutes and start counting the bots with speed hack. Don't forget to run +20 channels available in those main city's. Then you can do the same in Feiton to Punika to see how many real players there are. Now compare the numbers and be honest with yourself.
I love the game but Amazon needs to stop scamming players and start adressing the problems. You've been cheated in New World, you're being cheated again in Lost Ark.

You must rarely play to say you rarely come across a bot.
They are everywhere... or maybe you think names like CxAYvvs are normal?

I wasn't doubting the existence of bots, just wondering where or how their actions might affect someone, casual player or otherwise.
I don't use the market (yet) but I understand an influx of goods or currency could bork things up in it.
Haven't seen the bot trains someone mentioned, if they were causing me to get DC'd or blocking my path I'd be pissed for sure but have been lucky to avoid so far.
As for the video, I rarely watch them, better if someone extracts the relevant points for discussion, especially on an "old school" forum like this site.
Set aside the video, in what ways have bots negatively impacted "your" gameplay?
Cash shop warriors killing you in PVP? FOMO that others will buy their way to the top tier content ahead of you? You won't be able to dominate the marketplace due to bot fed materials mucking it all up?
I only concern myself with bots and cheaters when their bad actions directly impact my fun and refuse to get worked up over what others say on the internet.

Despite all its problems I really do like the game. And its the only Korean made MMO I've ever liked. The biggest hurdle it had to cross with me was my very wrong expectations about what the game was and that was entirely my fault. I did no research on it other than a video clip or too and assumed it was an ARPG in line with POE or Diablo or Grim Dawn. It was none of that. It is a very rich and very deep mmo, with a ton to do, and also happened to blend the ARPG playstyle in with it in combat. That hybrid style of play wrapped in a full on mmo shocked me how much I enjoyed it.
It's shocked me, too. Lots to do, quests, things to kill. I could do without the every-attack-is-an-AOE attack and the incessant cut scenes. Don't take control of my character, let me walk away from the guy who just interrupted the fight to kill the boss for himself.
Now, let's see this same amount of effort and production values put into a traditional MMORPG *without* the 'one-man army' aspects of an ARPG.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
Well I seen the bots mention and seen the mention behavior. I'm mostly is the sub 25 level. So far I haven't had it bother me to any extent, but then I guess you could say I'm just starting to go through the content. Since I haven't got to crafting or using the game market/Auction, I can't say how bad they are.
My problem with bots, is that I play MMORPG's mainly to play in a virtual world. I might play solo, and the bots don't affect that. But I don't want my virtual world to be infested with bots.
I can not say what it is but it has been probably nearly 20 years since I have put so much time into a game. Sleep? Thats for the dead. I have over 300 hours at this point and still maintain my full time job and taking care of my family.
I run a guild that is super social and it is capped on players with discord busy pretty much all day and night people always in VC. At least 50% of the players in it are on for 8 or more hours most days. The gameplay loop has grabbed people at least for now.
The bots have zero impact on me personally and it's to be expected with a F2P game that's been out this long.

if you go to the ports they seem to have an issue leaving it to get to their boat. they all have the white rabbit pet out and cluster at the portal. I haven't seen them in the higher level areas but assume they are out therre leveling in low ones so they can enter chat.
Look closely in low level areas. Although I have seen some 50's already. The majority are sorceress or berserker. Some of them are running faster than a mount and some are in groups of 2 to 5 characters same class. Usually they have the same gear.
Ahhh that makes sense they are in areas that dont matter to the end game player. I have seen none in chaos duneons, abyssals, chaos gates, gaurdian raids, cube, or pvp. In other words they have no impact on the gameplay that matters and are trolling the levelers and intoducing somewhat of an influx of gold that has an impact on conversion rates. Not really a doomsday scenario imo, but not saying they shouldnt be addressed either.
In a normal play session over a couple of hours, I see 40-50 scattered through the zones at any given time. More if I go into a major city. Plus the gold spam chat.

Perhaps I just don't know what to look for, what do bots look like?

Apparently they are all named xCftrol or some such.
I don't play the game that much and can't say that other than the gold selling bot chat spam I haven't run into any bots.
Unless they're botting gathering I have no idea just WTF they'd be botting since the traditional mob grinding that bots can easily do gives almost 0 XP so it isn't botting to level and sell leveled accounts.
Botting for mats and drops? I guess. If you do that 24-7 you could get some coin that way I suppose.

Having done some research there is a bot problem but they are active in trying to stamp it out, not sure what more they could do? Thinking of issues I have seen in other games are items bound to account?
