After the huge March update went live in Lost Ark, the team updated the community on top issues, including ongoing bot bans, economy concerns, and Europe server improvements and support.

I discovered this last evening when I had a guy from Germany in my pug and I couldn't see his party chat even though he was talking English.
That was my very first experience with Amazon games. Very first, and very last.
But wouldn't the ban also include removing that gold you are talking about?

The majority of mmos have gold sellers but that doesn’t make them p2w
Spending money just cuts the amount of days/weeks/months you need to do dailies more than anything. Arena PvP is normalized. Really, the only thing you could gain by being 1400+ faster is perhaps in guild wars when they come out, but I don't even know how they work yet. I understand the rush in games like Archeage where if you can stay ahead in power, you can control all the farming spots in PvP. It doesn't seem to get you much more than an empty wallet here.
It's weird to see so many people in such a rush to progress in a game that's obviously heavily influenced by the slow, log in every day and get a little better loops in mobile games.
Lost Ark is 100% pay-to-win, right up there with the worst of them.
People that say it's not P2W have either not played the game and just want to argue the point, or they have some weird emotional need to lie in order to defend a game. It is not a matter of subjective opinion or your personal definition of pay-to-win... Lost Ark is OBJECTIVELY and DEMONSTRABLY a full Pay-to-Win game.
How is a PvE game pay to win ? Please explain ... There is literally no endgame content here ... nothing you gain from getting there first etc ... You can do everything without spending a ccent ...
This is like XP boosters in Single player games ... what's the point ? You just throwing money out the window for no benefit.
To many paying for any advantage constitutes P2W but then they are diluting the meaning of the term into being largely useless.
There really have been games historically (typically PVP focused) which you really could not "win" unless you buffed up your gear via the cash shop.
Runes of Magic was very heavily P2W back when it first launched, not sure today though
Pay for Advantage (PfA) would be a more accurate moniker but that's a battle I've been fighting for years with little success.
The best concession I've seen gamers agree to (a little) is P2W is a sliding scale, varying from the very benign, such as in Paths of Exiles, increasingly moving up the scale as more and more advantages can be purchased.
Another point is a game's design may well mitigate the impact of PfA purchases, EVE Online does a good job in this regard.
Despite being able to spend real world money to easily (not necessarily directly) purchase in game currency and skill training boosters, or even fully skilled out characters the impact of others doing such is rarely observed or felt by those who don't partake in the practice.

I've still not really noticed any bots yet, but perhaps they aren't around where I travel.

It will get old fast, I gave up reporting them. The spammers I just block or close chat. There are just too many.
Some people are saying that if you chat in local bots will sometimes start spamming you in IMs. As for chat in this game, minus the bots it's not too toxic when it's clear of spam. Mostly people helping each other, lfg ect. I think the bots are chasing the trolls away since it's harder to troll if no one can read what you said in between bot spam.
