I do not understand why they are supposedly increasing server capacity if the population keeps shrinking?
I mean, they are literally at all time low population... down about 70 percent from launch. Maybe it's in preparation for some free week of play to try and get people back?
This is what they should have been working on pre-launch, not post launch.

Well thats cool but why not add a NA serv--*is stabbed by flaming fanboys*
Their "NA server" is supposed to come from a new continent in game. Which sounds cool... but it was LITERALLY the same stuff that Heinrich their CEO said they were working on with their first game 8+ years ago and it never appeared.
I have the quotes on that in another post somewhere on here from a few weeks back.

Lol apparently the fanboys seem to have magical connections that give 100 ping from NA. I can't even play on east coast servers in shooters at that ping from west coast. I just can't believe they made the same mistake again with MO2. Why couldn't they have launched with 2 continents, one NA and one EU?
I could deal with roaming and having fights on the EU continent regularly, but being forced to ALWAYS play at a disadvantage is a hard pass for me in a full loot pvp mmo.

Why wouldn't you fix that problem? I've talked to a lot of people and many are taking a break while things get straightened out and many others took a pause to play elden ring and try out lost ark. Most plan to come back because they enjoy the game but want some things fixed.
you are right that these things should have been done before launch. They've explained it and there are reasons, but in the end, results are what count. They definitely screwed up there, but they are working it and the game is fun. There is absolutely no reason not to fix the server issues for the future. Even if it doesn't pan out, you work towards the goal/hope/plan. You don't just give up....do you?
2 press releases picked up by this site, both almost exactly the same about 'expanded server capacity' after 70% of the players have already quit is an absolute joke.

I was going to say the same. Why are they expanding capacity when the playerbase is dwindling by the day? Are there so tone deaf that they have no idea what's going on? I'd imagine an indie dev or something at this point would listen closely to players, fix bugs and whatnot, certainly not try to expand servers months after people were unable to log in and they decided to quit. Many of those players will never come back, so why bother?
This was the same approach they took 12 years ago. They didn't meet demand, they instead waited for people to stop trying to play. The only thing Henrik Nyström has done well is convinced people to give him money for poor leadership.
Exact same problems, and exact same responses. "Once people spread out." "Once few people leave the starting area." "Once we add more continents." ~Henrik Nyström 2010
They already have the roadmap for the FtP transition.
They ported MO1, slapped a 2 on it, and fools and their money parted.
It may only be a video game company, but there is nothing ethical or moral about the way this guy operates.
Jesus Im still enjoying the game btw. New World got me uninterested 2 weks in.
Are you guilded? I think that's where most of the fun potential is for MO2.
In New World, there is little incentive to group in openworld. I ran flagged PvP solo for 99% of my openworld time... got in <10 PvP fights in hundreds of hours of gameplay. Lame.

You lasted a lot in New World. I uninstalled it after 40 minutes, it's worse than Asian mobile MMOs.
No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

That has to be some kind of sarcasm right? Or a typo?
