If you hated building in Fortnite, this might be the mode for you. Today, Epic Games announced Fortnite Zero Build, a new fast-paced mode of the popular battle royale, which strips away the building mechanics for a more streamlined version of the game.

    I always thought the building was really dumb...it looked dumb and made a farce of the game...but...it appealed to others so it is what it is.

    I remember when this was a tower defense game that was all about building. Those were the days. Now the whole Dungeon Defenders style experience is basically dead across the whole industry.

    The building actually made the game interesting, giving you extra survival options.

    Without building, Fortnite just devolves in yet another a-typical fragfest PVP game.

    People build entire fortresses in the final center to duke it out and I always thought it made it fun. So now that will just turn into a boring open area fragfest.

    So if no-building is becoming the new default game mode, then they will have to do something with the world map and make it more interesting.

    "Save The World", or Fortnite as us OG players call it, still exists. Just kind of forgotten...

    "Now it'll be a pure test of skill against each other" .....it already was a pure test of skill...if you and another player were on equal grounds with shooting but they had more skill in building you're likely going to get bodied....they just devolved the game for complainers and people that didn't care to learn a new mechanic. The game takes miles away more skill to play with building.

    Pretty sure epic is just taking this shot in the dark because every season of fortnite just gets worse and worse since the new chapter and they just haven't been able to add anything fun and balanced to the meta since then.

    Hot take: the gameplay loop severely restricts the ability to add things both fun *and* balanced.

    It's a gameplay loop with very few steps, creating sparse opportunity to create a fun new addition that isn't some form of weapon, item, or consumable, which is then a headache to balance when you're constantly adding and replacing said weapons, items, and consumables.

    This is why so many multiplayer shooters' very lives depend on new maps and game modes (or, if you're a hero shooter, more heroes).  There's not a whole lot of other places in these games to create content for folks.  If you keep going back and adding new makeup for the same parts of your face, you run out of new looks a lot faster.

    Why don’t you include considerable player number drops in your PUBG posts every time you post something about PUBG? Pos garbo site. Look at PUBGs Steam charts, same as Realm Royale.

    I think it was the way that it was presented that made it look like a joke...It was like the Flash on speed doing the building......
