Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
I feel like this part is important to keep in mind and is more of a design decision more than a 'misstep' as it were. People have been so used to western versions of mmorpgs getting people 'ready' for the latest content for the past 6+ years or so. There was a point in time where new stuff came out and a lot of newer people simply couldn't do it. WoW used to do such content releases (definitely before Legion), that made the entire expansion's raids useful all the way through it because people had to progress through them in order to get to the latest one (most of the time). So it comes down to personal taste imo.
As the writer does state though, things in the Korean version did help alleviate some of these things that it feels like AGS choice not to have implemented to capitalize on people's impatience is my guess.
i think the biggest mistake most people are making is not having alts and progressing them. in the time and resources to get 1 character to 1370 you can probably get all 6 characters to t3 instead.
it was all about $$$ i dont have any proofs nor any doubts
What I don't like as of now is the 2 guardian dungeons per day. The fights are fairly annoying (as a melee player) and usually last very long. They eat resources like crazy.
I would love to see some VOIP action going, otherwise I will eventually stop PUG:ing content completely. Did two Abyssals yesterday and oh my... We were 2 premades out of 4 and we carried most of the content and I was also the one providing info regarding the tactics. We had to start over twice as people don't have crystalline aura and died enough times to have 0 durability. So a VOIP would help a lot with the frustrating.
If even those guys recon 1370 is a bit much then something is out of kilter.
Hitting up our weekly sources for materials, then once they're dry we shift into doing our dailies, then either shifting into horizontal content or play another game until the next day, and we continue like that until the next weekly reset.
So as with any MMO which has high tier raiding, my guess is less than 10% of the customer base is anywhere near that point, nor will they ever be unless rushed along at some point later.
So not surprising if AGS isn't particularly concerned about the elite, but they also are aware said tier is likely succeptable to P2W and taking advantage of them.
