That was actually the most informative trailer I have seen and really helped explain a lot more to me than anything I had seen on their website, kickstarter, or 3rd party sites.

I just hope this gets fairly evaluated on its merits as a game and not have people jump on a pro/no side just based off of non-game related things.

I think this game struggles to hit a demographic broad enough to gain traction , for long term survivability

That's mostly a matter of having a realistic idea about how much money you need to bring in to continue, and having enough players/payers to support that.   Any demographic will work, as long as you've pegged it properly.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Plans are useless, but planning is indispensible.   ;)

    Looks like turn based combat.

From the original article it is.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

The video broadly hinted at PvP.  How's that going to work in a turn-based environment?

Also, the video suggested that characters could marry, and others would specialize in marriage rituals/ceremonies.  How is that specialist going to progress (i.e. a non-combat ply loop)?

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

I see a lot of interesting gameplay there, this one will be down to forming a coherent whole of what it has to offer. I thought previously you could not play a guy, then I saw some toons and thought OK you can, now I am back to thinking maybe not?

Like I've said before, people yell at kids for dressing as non-white princesses for Halloween, how will they react when they find out white folk are roleplaying as African tribe people???

It's very easy to be called a racist for no reason in current year.
What happens when those people learn that the people role playing as elves and dwarves and so forth aren't actually elves and dwarves in real life?  Just because trolls say stupid things in real life doesn't mean that you can't ignore them.  Especially in an online game where the casual sadists who like to destroy lives over imaginary offenses on Twitter don't know who you are in real life.  If they try to harass people over this in the game itself, then the company can ban them for it.

Yeah no. Elves aren't real. Dwarves..well if you want to be a prick and call a little person that...you deserve the ball kicking.

    We do have however.

    Blackface.

Now given you can't even VOICE ACT outside of your race now. I'm pretty sure this game is gonna be watched by people like "dude...dare ya".

Because in the end Overly sensitive shit has become like standard and frankly no one wants that.

The moment one of you white dudes post a tumblr or imgur or whatever on your character you gonna get hit with so much hate you will regret even posting.

and if that doesn't happen? Well hell looks like the world stopped being stupid for a minute.

Anyhow white folks have fun with that. You know you won't.

I don't know about you, but in a lot of games, I play characters with a wide variety of skin colors.  It varies by game, but often includes some that you'd call "white", some "black" or "brown", and some such as green or blue that don't look like human skin at all.  No one has ever made a big fuss to me about this, and they kind of couldn't, as they don't know who I am in real life, anyway.

Do I think that's going to change in Wagadu Chronicles?  No, no I don't.  If there are a handful of lunatics who go around harassing people who play as African characters in the game in spite of probably not being African in real life, the company can end the problem by banning them.  This isn't really that hard.

My employer is super-woke so I'd probably get fired for playing this title.
This is why you should never post anything non-professional online under your real name.  So long as you're just "Wargfoot", your employer will never know what you're playing at home.

It doesn't matter if you think it's a real risk or pure paranoia.  Putting your real name on things online is all downside with no advantages, and it's only a question of how much downside.
