Already hopped in long enough to recruit Ember as my new companion... and now it's down for an unscheduled maintenance for a couple of hours to fix and issue with the game's database.
It wouldn't be an ESO content update without multiple extra downtimes during the first week

I was planning on starting as a new player finally - so I won't be jumping into the new expansion, just starting out.
I did once, but the questing was weird. The base games storyline was constantly interrupted by the new stuff, which jumped around in the games time line like crazy. I'm really hoping they cleared that up.

This particular new content is much more compatible with the original, 3 Banners War, storyline than any others since the main story in this one centers around secretive efforts to broker a peace between the 3 alliances.
It has nothing to do with the other vanilla ESO major theme, the Molag Bal threat but neither do any of the other DLC.

Nice, I like story heavy content so I'll look forward to it when I get there.
Nope. I bought Blackwood, logged in, went to the start quest, immediately got hit with "I've done this before" vibes, logged out and left for good. Burnout is real, and every dlc/story being the same reskinned shit doesn't make it slow down.
Yup. Burnout is real and so is getting over the burnout. I was gone for nearly two years. From just after Western skyrim, through The Reach, Blackwood and Deadlands.
I just went back in January and got back into it again although I'm certainly not blind to its warts. It's just familiar and comfy when I'm in the mood for that.

There's several guides like this one on how to experience the game in order as I agree, storyline is weird as a new player if started at the latest expansion.
I recall starting in Vvardenfall, then the elven islands adventuring heavily with a key storyline NPC Raz but then later on he greeted me like it was our first meeting, on more than one occasion.

The NA server was up for one hour and has been down for maintenance for 8 hours and the latest estimate is that it will be down for another two.

Is this the same as previous expansions where they release one new zone that's relatively small and a new storyline that takes maybe 5-7hrs to complete and throw in a couple new dungeons?
I am currently taking a bit of break from ESO for the most part, but will be hopping back in eventually. I have already reserved my ticket to the Isles for when I return.
Each update always provides me plenty to do while making interesting changes to the game that aren't limited to the new area and story alone and whatever the latest new feature being added is, the card game this time around.
I find ESO reliably entertaining, even if not always extremely so, which is more than I can say for any other fairly recent MMORPG.

No, it's like their previous expansions that add more along with world and story expansion, and new systems. The details of the current expansion are now widely available online for those interested and yet unfamiliar. Seek them out if you care to.

I had the same bought Blackwood logged in and logged out after +/- 15min and never logged in again to play ESO. I'm done with ESO for now... Even went back to WOW to spend my last gold to buy a 1 month sub played 30min and logged out never played again. FFXIV done the story new patch and logged out never logged in again. Dunno I just need something new, Ashes Of Creation needs to hurry up!! ;p

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Even if they made all future story DLCs and Chapters completely free, I will never play ESO again.

Whelp....
Because they will never improve that hideous combat which is crucial.
Also, the walking anination that is stiff like a pale us up the bum and through the head where only the leg moves while the back is complete frozen.
