Thats why nowadays I rather do other things than playing games.
I still would play Vanguard: Saga of Heroes if it was still up and running.
I spent 2 days with my group going through steam, epic, xbox gamepass, and our own PC disc drives... we couldn't find anything to play. Loaded up Black Desert and deleted it faster than it took to load....
Might actually go back to ESO again... for the 3rd or 4th time.
But yeah, I'd dive into a Vanguard/Pantheon game in a heartbeat.
I have been going through all the games on Steam and not finding anything either.....I've tried ESO twice....Im not going back a third time, especially with a 100+ gig download...It isnt that good of a game and im not taking up over 10% of my hard drive for it.
So far I only reached level 9, playing extremely casual with work around the house. Finding it very boring because of the EXTREAMILY EASY COMBAT.
It's like this, I was in an area with many nagging wolfs constantly relentless. I decided to simply let them beat on me while I decide my next move. I let five minuets go by and still took no damage....... Is everything is like this !!!
How can anyone enjoy this ?
Anyway, only level 9 so I'll give it some time......Also will soon start searching for events to take part in and dungeons.
Any recommendations for future content other than open world content ?
If you want harder combat then try harder content. Do some of the multiplayer stuff, not sure what they call them now but essentially the "dungeons." Not the open delves, they're' called something else.
I walked into one solo and had my ass handed to me.
Agreed. There is plenty of challenging content in the game but ESO does a good job of creating for many kinds of people. Some people just want to go easy and enjoy the ride. Some want to be pushed. Some people want to be punished. ESO provides all those things for all those people. I was doing a quest last night in High Isle and was completely hammered by a group on the beach. I had to call on the guild and we still had two people drop before completion. Great fun!
I've been told that, so that's what I'm counting on.
At what level can I start searching for this content ?
Dolmens, or the giant anchors that fall from the sky, spawn waves of mobs to fight. They're in the open world, so many of them are crowded with players. The more players there are, the higher level the mobs are. But you can find some that are empty, and try to solo those. It will be hard.
Next, try an open dungeon or delve. These are open to the world, and some may have other people in them. Again, if you find one empty, you can try to solo those. Some will be pretty hard.
Then you could try some of the private dungeons. There is usually a level 1 and level 2 version. Try to solo one of the level 1 dungeons, you probably cannot do it.
You can do any of these at any level. At level 9, you probably won't have much chance at soloing any of them.
Just open your map, look for the Skull heads, go there when they spawn and you'll find some challenge depending how many other players show up.
You probably don't have access to the DLC regions, some of those bosses can really be a challenge unless extremely proficient / geared players are also present.

I went back and rolled a new character of Fallout 76.
Thought it might be fun to revisit the stories and what not but so far, not really feeling it.
Maybe EVE again?
Sigh
Yeah we never really played Eve. Dabbled a few times but it's... not much of a dabbling type game.
Ive thought about it though
Fallen Earth perhaps? It is still back right? Or is it gone again?
/Cheers, Lahnmir
You know, that wasn't a half bad game but when I played it years ago I leveled up to 35 or 40 and discovered all of the higher level players had quit for various "reasons."

At level 9 with no CP you cannot be idle for five minutes when being attacked by numerous wolves and take no damage. You will die. Your claim is utter nonsense.
You can go wherever you want whenever you want regardless of level, so pick your poison from that below:
Overland ~ Dolmens (or that areas version of), World Bosses, Craglorn (some areas, you will be notified when entering those intended for groups.)
Other ~ Undaunted, Dungeons, Arenas, Trials.
There are multiple levels of difficulty for some of the above.
The easiest of all that is dolmens, being survivable at you level... likely. The rest will get you killed right quick if you are so foolhardy to attempt them at this time, especially at the higher difficulty levels.
*Edit*
My contention regarding your wolf encounter has been proven false, showing things have changed since I've been early level with no CP to spend. I apologize for clearly the one in error is myself.
The content I mentioned is harder than the base line difficulty so you should still be able to find challenge there. Delves that I've seen others bring up are not much more difficult than the overland so likely won't challenge you too greatly.

What happens when you die in ESO, anyways?
You can self rez with an item except in dungeon boss fights where someone else has to do it. There's also some minor armor and weapon repair costs but not much more than what you get from just regular fighting without death.
Basically almost no penalty.

And boring. I remember in UO, and I'm sure EQ from what I've read, you had to make a corpse run and you might not find your corpse. Another player helping you out anywhere along that line of play was greatly appreciated, and friendships and trust were built. That's a valuable commodity in MMORPGs. Look at today's issues with players just going solo for the results of lacking that "commodity."
At level 9 with no CP you cannot be idle for five minutes when being attacked by numerous wolves and take no damage. You will die. Your claim is utter nonsense.
many wolves? Possibly not.
But after I read the claim I went in game and used a level 11 and a level 5 on Bleakrock Isle. Found a polar bear and the bear couldn't kill me. Found a spider the same thing. Finally found a wolf and it barely damaged me. couldn't find a pack of wolves.
Now my account has CP but I haven't assigned it to anything for either character so I assume they should be just like a level 11 and level 5.
Still, mobs are not there to offer challenge, they never are. They are merely encounters that offer a step toward leveling up.
At least in most modern games. In lineage 2 a mob "used to" be able to take you down at lower levels. I imagine the same could be said for Everquest and other more old school games.
But as I've said before, I truly don't believe Delete would like old school games even though he insists that's what he wants.

Yeah, for some reason the safeties to prevent killing neutral npcs is set to off by default, probably the developers way of having some lulz at our expense.
I let my new 8 yr old granddaughters play characters on ESO for the dress up factor as their parents don't want them exposed to "violent" video games.
I kept them inside major cities thinking they couldn't get in trouble by to my surprise one of them accidentally attacked a guard and was killed....
They love rubbing it my face and now ask to play violent video games whenever I'm watching them at the house.
I do, but the safeties are firmly in place. But you know, if I turn my back for 2 mins they "accidentally" find their way out of town and end up having to kill something.
I'll probably catch hell one day when my daughter and her hubby find out, but as I tell the girls, they can call me the bad grandpa.

One highly annoying thing was since they closed their own client and migrated everyone to Steam I could no longer run two game clients on one machine as Steam won't let you.
Finally after several months some folks recently found an easy solution involving using sandboxie but not the free version, you have to buy at least the cheapest annual sub $19.35 after exchange from Euro and stupid VAT.
With that comes a certificate you need to run in a particular mode which supports two Steam clients, otherwise it limits you to 5 minutes. Definitely P2W for sure.
Why two game clients? Makes it much easier to store extra gear and caps,as well as trade between alts.
Used to also let me build and live in more than one camp at a time in the same instance but they've partially remedied that issue now giving everyone two camp slots and selling more in the Atom store if you desire, but you can't have them both up at same time where I can.
I pay for the sub on only one account and let it do all of the crafting for all characters.

I never play beta's but I understand ESO was even harder then than it was at launch and I thought the difficulty was challenging then so about right. But MMOs always get ever easier in the long run. The death penalty is too easy but rather than corpse runs which I think we really need to leave to MMO history they could have a "social" penalty, have to spend some time in a Tavern, something like that. Bin the repair costs and even anti social soloers might like it.

You know what? Way back when I read a SWG review in Computer Gaming World and of the the biggest factors for me deciding not to play was their description of the "social" downtimes built into the launch.
The Cantinas might have been bearable, but when they doubled down mentioning long lines of players waiting for a player "doctor" to heal their injuries and I wasn't having any of that.
I think the social downtimes were toned way back later on but by then plenty of other issues had come to light which kept it off of my list, all for the better as it turns out.
