MultiVersus, the new Smash-like from Warner Bros and Player First Games, has had a stellar start to its open beta, especially on PC. The free-to-play multiplayer brawler has seen incredible numbers since launching yesterday, topping over 150K concurrent players in its first 24 hours.

    It looks really fun but I suck at this style of games so I'd rather just watch streamers play it.

    well, the game is more of the same, it will be down to 10k or less in a month or two.

    Lets see what the player base is in two months this has flavour of the month written all over it.

    Also it is a beta, have players lost their ability to wait for a launch? If we can't wait anymore then true studios won't even bother to polish a game after beta.

    That ship sailed quite a while ago, I blame survival games and those who play them in early access for making it commonplace.

    "But hey, I'm having fun" is the usual excuse.....(or, but it only cost $x.xx so no big deal)

    Like a cheap date, Boredom makes gamers lose all respect for themselves.

    More of the same implies that there's a lot of competition in the 'platform fighter' genre. There's surprisingly little, and even that's rarely above the indie level.

    Its a fun Smash Clone right now i enjoy playing it, in my Opinion its way better then many others who tried to copy Smash like the Playstation Allstar or Nikelodeon one only to name two.

    It has much Potential with Charakters from the Warners IPs and i hope they bring Animaniacs and cant wait for the announced Rick and Morty Charakter i think they will join the roster with the start of the new season in September or prior.

    Also they had/have Movie Rights for Mortel Kombat, Matrix, Rorouni Kenshin and Dune maybe something from there will join too. XD

    Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, Rumbleverse, Brawlhalla, smash bro, Rivals of Aether, Brawlout. there are so much games like this.

    Notice I said most aren't above indie level. And Nickelodeon All Star Brawl failed immediately, because it was bad.

    This is the first one on a production tier to actually potentially take a significant piece of Smash's pie since Playstation's mishandled attempt with Playstation All Stars.

    I'm surprised how fun this game is. I hope they add many more characters, including Freakazoid!
