Looking for a singleplayer RPG with character progression (i.e. loot, talent tree, skill points etc)

I'm in the mood to play an RPG and sink a lot of hours into it, but having looked around I think I've played most of the big name RPGs over the past several years and I'm feeling out of options now. Some of what I've played are as follows:

- Witcher trilogy / All Elder Scrolls games / Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 / Tyranny / Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 / Disco Elysium / Mass Effect trilogy / All Fallout games / Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2 / Fable trilogy / Dragon Age trilogy / Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen / Wasteland 3 / Outer Worlds / Kingdoms of Amalur / All Deus Ex games / Kingdom Come: Deliverance / Red Dead Redemption 2 / Pathfinder: Kingmaker

There's probably a load others but that's what I can remember off the top of my head at the moment. I've been looking at Grim Dawn just for the singleplayer campaign, but if anybody can recommend any others that'd be really appreciated. I don't really have a preference on story & setting, but would like the game to have some form of progression throughout such as being able to level up, get new gear, unlock new skills/talents etc.

    I am not sure if you might want to try it but there is this game called Rune Factory 5. It has a really involved world where you farm, do dungeons and craft while also increasing your relationship with the town folk. You can tame monsters who will do chores for you around the farm when they love you enough and you can also take those monsters with you to fight and ride them as mounts too.

    The farming system is quite complex where you have to watch the condition of the soil and consider the weather and even protect the crops from disasters. The combat is action oriented. The farming can be as complex or simple as you want. You can earn money and there is a lot of content and the game is easily 100 hours long. Fishing, cooking, chemistry, crafting armour and farm tools and so on. There are a lot of recipes and it can be quite overwhelming but you can do things slowly as there is no time limit to constrain you.

    If you can stand the high level of euro jank, Elex 2 released at the same time as Elden Ring and as a result no one noticed. Its from the guys that did Gothic and Risen, games that have no problem pummeling you into submission if you aren’t careful. The Elex games are open world with a weird blend of sci-fi and magic. There is an awful lot to discover and you really need to put in some serious effort to get, well, anywhere really. Not for the faint of heart or those expecting AAA production values.

    I could recommend more but this game flew so far under the radar I thought it worth mentioning.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    Impressive list of RPGs, @FuryV.

    I noticed you didn't mention Neverwinter Nights in your list, though.  There's plenty there, if you can abide the D&D rules.  The basic game comes with a pretty intensive story, and when you finish that, there's all sorts of player-made online adventures to explore.  Good NWN servers are very good, and can really match your style of RPG gaming from automated quest runs to heavily curated RP.  There's all manner of crafting add-ins.

    Finding an active game with solid DMs can be really fun -- about the closest to a tabletop RP game session.

    I actually bought Elex 1 a few weeks back as I wanted to play Elex 2 but figured I'd play the first game beforehand so I know the lore, backstory etc.  As much as I tried to like it, it was just a bit TOO janky.  Perhaps I've been spoilt by too many AAA games over the years, but it just got to a point where I had to drop it and move on.

    Damn, I knew I'd missed one out.  Yes, I've played NWN as well and enjoyed it... Never played NWN 2 though.  Perhaps that's worth a shot?

    You could check out steel rising which should be released soon. Not clear how heavy the role play elements are but it seems interesting.

    You could honestly play Path of Exile like a single-player game. There's pretty crazy builds you can do in that game and its free.

    I forgot to mention that Rune Factory 5 is an anime game so if you dislike that art form than you might not want to check it out.

    I wonder if you aren't burning out on it a little bit? You've already played a pretty good list of games, but there are thousands out there...I often like to jump around to different genres just to keep things fresh.....

    Gonna throw a wrench into the mix: XCom 2?

    It's not considered a role playing game, but it is close. You take the part of "The Commander", but you get to "skill up" your recruits and help them improve to become the best soldiers they can be.

    It may be a stretch, but if you haven't played XCom 2 (and the DLC War of the Chosen), it may interest you :)

    Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.
