No shade or ill will towards the actor, just gotta keep some traditions alive.
I haven't watched anything after that, but other Star Trek series and movies look even dumber. As dumb as the world of Star Wars is, it has some more interesting things in it, not jedi or sith or clone troopers or storm troopers, I've always found out most interesting the species, their planets, their history and so forth, not a story about a stupid space baby born from the Force and his tragic downfall.
But I don't get the hype about Star Trek, it just feels so cheesy and dumb but tries to look smart and takes itself seriously, in comparison, Star Wars is dumb, it doesn't pretend it's not dumb and as soon as one realizes how dumb it is, it becomes somewhat appealing, because you can turn your brain off and just take it in, you won't miss a thing if you were thinking throughout it.
I enjoyed Star Trek: The Next Generation quite a bit.
For me personally, Star Trek: Voyager was the best, because it was quite a dark series, with lot of drama (due to them being stranded in the Delta Quadrant).
Though, as with any long running series, there were some outright terrible cheezy episodes I just had to skip right over.
But overall, over 7 seasons with average 24 episodes per season, it was a damn good series.
Any interesting and major character developments and dramatic events were undone or ignored by the next episode, and even worse, every other season they kept resetting the characters, through alternate universes, clones, or other stupid little one episode stories which undid seasons of characters development.
They overused the Borg too IMO, and turned them into a joke.
It has vibes of the original minus the cheese.

TOS is seriously dated, and like a lot of older TV shows and content, they were a product of their times. Everything about the show might seem dumb to us now, from the casting, writing, acting, costumes, and special effects, but back in the day they were actually all quite contemporary and were on some cases way ahead of their times.
And yeah no idea how you could rate the other series and movies if you haven't seen them, and I got the sense that you were just trolling, but... if you have watched nothing but The Original Series, then you are missing out. In particular Star Trek: Deep Space 9 - if you want something with well written characters and lore, that show is highly recommended.

I enjoyed next Generation and the movies but never really was interested in the rest. Also I don't Think Star Wars is dumb, it's an adventure tale. It's not smart or dumb just is what it is.

For me the best are TOS and then DS9, but I found more enjoyment from Babylon 5 and Farscape as they told longer form stories, had actual character development and didn't use the TNG reset button.
As far as Wesley goes, I hate the character and I really don't like the actor either. He totally shilled for the crappy Picard second season.
Big fan of B5, not so much of FS mind you.
I expect his character will be quite different if they are focusing solely on the Mirror Universe version of him. That could make it interesting, more so than standard Wesley Crusher anyway.
Moving too far away from Roddenberry's vision has been the problem with Star Trek in recent years. Strange New Worlds will hopefully get things back on track.
