Niantic is just a one trick pony at this point.
Pokemon GO was a massive success, because the formula worked.
Then they tried with the Harry Potter AR game and miserably failed and had to shut it down 2 years later.
It's same with the Pikmin game they released earlier this year. It's boring and repetitive like hell and I wouldn't be surprised it will shutdown soon as well.
This Marvel AR game will be no different.

Kyleran on yours sincerely
'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'
Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...
'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'
Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer
All games so far are all based on the core framework of their first game Ingress.
Pokemon GO happened to perfectly translate on that same framework with Gyms and Pokestops.
The Harry Potter game (Wizarding World) was based on the same framework, as is the current game Pikmin Bloom.
Niantic is simply stuck in that Ingress framework. After years of playing Pokemon GO, people are simply just tired of it.
That is why Wizarding World failed and why Pikmin Bloom will fail too (this last one is even more simplistic and boring). These games just don't/didn't translate well onto that framework.
I don't see how this Marvel AR game is going to be any different.

When you consider how we weathered a pandemic you might think that would make people more confident in the future, but I doubt it has.
To me the word woke is often used to label to dismiss a conversation and likewise racism can get used that way too. We come on here with no idea of each other's lives and history, but we sometimes use a single word to sum each other up. That seems to me to be a caricature.
As we are getting political, I will make this my last post on this issue, but by all means have the last word.
I've figured out that "woke" is used differently by different people. I was curious if Timacek was willing to explain the use made of it here.
It seems not, probably a wise choice in this circumstance.
