New World Patches Exploits and Gives Details On How They Will Reopen Trading Soon | MMORPG.com
Player trading is still disabled in New World for now, but Amazon patched the game and says top priority is getting things back to normal for players soon.
I know they are 'improving' but this has happened so many times by now that one would think this would be the first thing to test for on PTR.....Lets not forget that massive duping scandal they had earlier this year (I think it was).

Maybe you should teach them how to code properly to prevent these things.
HAHAHAAHAH I am sorry but this is just to funny at the this point.
September 23 2022 and they are still dealing with exploits so bad that they have to shut down the trading post? Seriously? I had to double check to make sure this wasn't a 2021 article.
There is NO excuse anymore. There shouldn't of been the first time.
What isn't funny is there were still several hundred players in New World who are part of the bottom feeders of humanity who leap at the opportunity to ruin the game for everyone else.
I sometimes wonder if folks here understand where the real problem lies.
I've long said we don't need better developers,or games even, we need "better" gamers.

It was proven earlier when the game released and was riddled with the same issues that it has today that its an engine issue, not a coding one, but AGS cannot admit it since it would cost more and take more time to essentially 'fix'/change the engine.

You played FO76 and gave us the warts and all story, I am relying on you to do the same here. To me the game just is not ready to play but for many it seems it is, that is a puzzle to me. You are not in a guild are you, I thought that's why the likes of Korrigan were pulling the wool over their own eyes. Interesting to see what you make of it and yes, the players as much as the devs make a MMORPG.

This one guild I was in in this other game had a mega hard raid on farm, and were constantly spamming DPS meters and patting themselves on the back. One day I bought up the point that we weren't really doing the fights properly since we were cheesing half the fights and using exploits for others... and yeah I was kicked out of the guild, after having been in there for 2+ years since their early days and had been a major contributor all that time.
But yeah other gamers, especially modern gamers, are perhaps the main reason why I'm not as big of an online gamer as I used to be nowadays. The trolls, the greed, the salt, and the angry screams of "WHY ARE YOU NOT PLAYING THE META?"... I just can't handle it anymore.

There were already dupes and exploits in UO... in fact, the first year was a catastrophe. Some players aren't really gamers, and cheater's best excuse is always "relax bro, it's just a game".
Eh you're butting up against the ugly side of human nature. That is in any sort of competitive environment, people will cheat if it's possible. Just look at the prevalence of performance enhancing drugs in professional or even amateur level sports. There's even Adderall abuse in eSports. Hoping for ethical players is like hoping to win the lottery. While mathematically possible, your unlikely to ever see it in your lifetime.

True but I suspect that a similar percentage of bottom feeders exists In every game.
It may be slightly higher in NW because of the game's history of having code that can be more easily exploited, but this crowd is everywhere in gaming, especially in PvP-centric games.

The good news is they turned on player to player trading last evening around 9 or 10 pm ET I think it was.
Don't believe they opened up the trading posts before I knocked off for the night.
The trading posts were never closed... only player to player trading since the dupe was possible thru the trade window with another player.
Also lower tier trophies were disabled because people were stacking the same trophies for guaranteed 600 GS crafts.
It is very odd however how both a 600 GS exploit and a trade dupe pop up on the same day... about 9 months after their last dupe exploit.

6GS and Trade dupe have had their baby and are now back to plague the game?

Looking forward to seeing what goes wrong when the first DLC Area releases.
