After yesterday's Brimstone Sands update, New World has temporarily disabled some specific content until fixes can be applied. These affect mobs, uests, and a crafting bug.

Yeah, I'm trying to restrain myself because its too easy to say something like "what a surprise" etc, so I'll say something positive instead and say at least they are trying.
I'm not entirely sure what the point of comparing the two mmorpgs is since they are obviously aimed at 2 different audiences to say the least.....if anything it would be embarrassing on AGS' part if EA brought in anything remotely close to a number compared.....but I guess someone has to reach for something....?

And then enjoy the extra spare time.
No need to link it to anything, just keep it there so that we know what's happening with the game.
My gut tells me it has something to do with many quests that were accepted prior to the update being broken after the update due to their being the "old version". I had to drop and retake my Amrine Excavation mission to actually get the Heartgem after the update.
It is nice to know you are honest about how clueless you are about my point when you obviously ignored the first sentence in my retort, about them targeting 2 completely different audiences. Neither game is marketing themselves as something they are not to draw in false numbers from a specific crowd. Ember is advertised as niche and emphasizes how they want to focus solely on group content, which is obviously not for a lot of people in this day-in-age. Even if they were able to pull in 1-2k people, that might be a 'good' number for them. New World is advertised as pretty much do what you want/feel like, so that will obviously have a substantially bigger drawn to people in the modern age. So saying that NW is pulling in however many compared to Ember is like comparing apples to oranges with your excuse being that they are both fruit.
EDIT: and also, none of those bugs are game breaking or economy destroyers.

One thing I do appreciate about these guys is how they engage with players in their forums, acknowledge new bugs - major or minor, and how quick they are to at least try to deal with them.
I've just spent 9 months in ESO and their policy there is to not acknowledge, not engage with those reporting the new bugs In the forums, and fix stuff when they get around to it in 3 months or so.
The #1 complaint there is not about the bugs themselves, it's about their ivory tower culture of secrecy about what bugs they are or aren't aware of and what they plan to do about them.

A specific type of poster will always be all over this game no matter how well the developers are doing. They are conveniently forgetting the problems in other games, notably the recurrent problems after each expansion in WoW, since release back in 2004.
This expansion (because it's one, even if it's free... it's at least the size of a DLC like Morrowind in ESO) release has been very smooth, on par with other industry standards, despite the huge amount of changes and content added.

Bethesda is not exactly the poster child for QC but it's all I've got to compare in the recent past from my own experience. I would say that there is no contest: the bugs introduced with every major game addition in ESO far outnumber the ones in NW, are often much more serious, and are routinely neglected for literally months,
I'll give you just one example.
Back in the spring, a new bug popped up with the group finder, Actually, it was several bugs in fact and it was totally nonfunctional for about 3 weeks. They got it back running again but not 100%. If you queued for a random dungeon (which everyone does for the daily bonuses) solo or with a full group, it worked fine but if you queued for one with 2 or 3 people there's a nearly infinite wait to fill the 3rd and/or 4th slot. It makes absolutely no difference what roles you're trying to fill: a tank and healer can group up and queue to find 2 DPS and the bug will have them wait for hours. This is not a random or occasional bug - it is an always thing.
As of last week, that bug was still there. That's 6+ months and despite 100s of posts about it in that time, there is not even a single ZOS post acknowledging it.
So you tell me as the perennial non-playing bystander: which game do you believe to be the buggier mess, 8-Yr-old ESO or 1-yr-old NW? No need to answer really. I know that you and everyone else think that NW is the broken and buggy shitshow.
The funny thing is though, from my hands-on experience in both, I know for a fact that ESO gets that honor

To me it this is a case of no smoke without a fire, but I take your point on the bugs you were talking about, they do seem more long lasting. I would counter by saying we seem to hear of some form of the same bugs coming back again and again in NW, so I think using the word "perennial" is quite fair.
I don't think the game is broken; I seem to have to say some version of that repeatedly on here, which is why you will find I have never used such words about NW. Also, many posters on here have given up on the game but I think you may be reading too much into some humour at the games expense. You yourself have "raised an eyebrow" shall we say at the bugs and dupes. The game is functioning, it was 16th most played on the Steam lists when we last talked about that on here, that can't be sniffed at.
To me the game just needs a shut down and restart as there are too many problems, would you as a fan object to that? I can't see why anyone would, the game would be far better off for it. I don't say this flippantly, if the dev team are keen to engage that's what players should be suggesting. As it is B2P it would be as easy pie to get the players back, just as we have seen many return for Brimestone.
As I already said, NW's openness about their problems is exactly the opposite approach from ZOS. Night and day really with respect to open communications.

A big positive, the arsehole major guild which controlled much of the server I'm on decided to up and leave on Tuesday, taking their regressive 25% tax rates with them.
So now my chosen faction, purple is in the minority and I'm happy about it.
Good riddance!

Tax rates have been normalized with the patch anyway.
Maybe they left because they could no longer exploit everyone else... anyway, good riddance !

Oh, another plus, I now don't have to flip factions which I was contemplating which is good as I get to keep my purple marker above my head, I really am not into Gold/Yellow.
Yes, I am a shallow gamer sometimes.
