Embers Adrift is ramping up getting their MMO in front of people, kicking off a weekend-long Halloween stream with multiple content creators. The streams will run nonstop across Twitch from now through Sunday evening. This coincides with their first ever live Halloween event running now through November 3rd.

Maybe, and spiders perhaps for a bit of Halloween flavour. There are also bunnies, but they would be more suited to an Easter event so probably won't be featured.
I am surprised this person is even getting 46 people watching on twitch. The entire game has less than 200 people watching total during primetime.
I doubt any popular streamer will touch this game. Unless they don't care if people watch their stream.
In other words, wating for them to make something of a MMO that is still really in EA.
No, this really is the launch state of the game. Future expectations for it should be based on that fact rather than the optimistic hope it is otherwise.
Oh, the popular streamers can still "touch" it (or any other kind of indie crapware)... as long as you pay them enough to promote it They will even pretend to like it for the right price (streamers like CohhCarnage are a perfect tools for promoting your project, they will "like" literally anything no matter how subjectively or objectively bad it is). Also, most of the viewers of "popular streamers" WILL watch the whole stream, no matter how bad the game will be, because every "popular streamer" eventually earns huge amount of fans over time who essentially end up watching streamers for their personality (and the occasional bits of attention that streamers throw towards their fans), not for what streamer plays (or does) on stream.

Sooner or later, it has to launch, no matter if the team thinks it needs another year or so. The downside of that is the community's reaction, much as we have seen here to an unpolished game with sparse content. Either way your reputation can take a knock.
i'll pass and go to try new world just for the cost of the entry pack.
maybe if it survive one year and if i've time, i'll give it a try (or if there's a free trial week)
I tend to hold the moral high ground more than most, my mother raised me that way.
My own damn fault for buying especially when they offered several free trials before selling.
Besides, charge backs are tracked by the banking system and I'd prefer not to get on that list for spurious reasons.

There are numerous riffraff present already so the buy in didn't keep them out. I don't expect the subscription fee will either.
The subscription fee isn't high. Those locked in by years end will be $10 a month as long as they are maintained. At years end it will rise to the common $15 a month. Subscription is necessary which is unusual these days.
I recall no such promise and I certainly wouldn't expect a refund if a policy for such hadn't be specifically stated.
What this game is likely, is some EQ1 Project 1999 guild that made their own game for their own guild, or at least this is that it feels like. You know, some guild who played P99 and decided that game held your hand too much.
Without magic classes, a mezz role in group dynamics, cool races that actually add variety, a larger toolset of skills to make every party not feel the exact same no matter the comp, and no forms of progression beyond simple levels....its just a game that appeals to a crowd that wont get much out of the game...and appeals to no one else.... For me it had a solid week of grinding and im just bored to tears, It made me want to load up Eq1 and go solo farm a necromancer. It doesnt improve on Eq1 in any way, and its just levelling on field mobs or dungeon mobs...nothing more even planned.
I don't think anyone on the current Dev team even a little EQ guild experience other than the streamer. Seems as if the people that had experience in gaming actually left with the CEO exit.
The current team didn't start dabbling into MMO's until just recently.
This team came from a D&D tabletop background that wanted to turn that concept into a video game. I think they didn't understand that MMO's were already doing that.
When your entire MMO gaming experience involves leveling a ranger to level 5, then you try to build an MMO video game. This is what you end up with.
I want to hear from the Level 25+ crowd that says this game is FUN in its current form expect to be playing this game for 6 months in its current form and not some fantasy they expect it to become.
Usually there are always some shills willing to push their BS. Yet nothing on this. It shows how bad the "middle game" is.
Anyone praising this game the way its built now, is either an employee or still a newb in game.
Playing this game from 25-35 is so bad its basically torture, 35 to 50? LOL I doubt you can describe that. People would have to be paid for that I expect.
I've put a decent amount of time in to the game, because its the pace and style of mmo im looking for. But, this was launched in early access for SURE. The game is only finished to level 30, but boasts a 1-50 experience. I'll be truly SHOCKED if they actually produce and launch end game content fit for level 50.
