The patch seems to be a change for the better, seems to make the game more challenging, which is arguable a good thing. People were complaining about how easy it was to play and now they are complaining about it's difficulty. It's simply human nature, or atleast thats the way it appears to me.
If the tables were turned, and people were accustomed to playing at a higher difficulty level and they changed it and made it easier, I would predict that one would find a similar degree of complaining from the beta community. It is difficult to adapt to change, pure and simple. That is the nature of mankind.

. . .see their "beta testers" in real-life action acting like a mass of imbeciles.

Welcome to mmorpgs. Same thing happened with EQ and DAoC. It happens. . .it has always happened, and will continue to happen.

They made changes to the game that are bad, so the beta testers are letting the devs know about it

Thats what they are supposed to do.

So how does that make them crybabies?

Apparently you don't understand what consumer feedback is.

There is a difference between constructive criticism and whining like a baby. Sure, some may not like the patch but reather than saying "Blizzard sucks ass now, WoW sucks, I'm never gonna play another Blizzard game again" and sounding like a dumbass, people could offer solutions. This means not just pointing out what is wrong with the game, but coming up with ways to fix it. As it stands, I liek the game, though I do hope the death penalty is modified, (whatever happened to you die, you lose a buncha xp or even a level?) and I really hope that Paladins are made to not suck, but either way, I have it on pre-order, and will buy it, play it and love it.

Does that surprise you so much...the outrage by some and the difference in how they deliver the message? It happens every day. . .I think your pointing out the obvious regarding human nature and personality difference.

Maybe they just went for an extreme overhaul and will tone it down based on beta player reaction. In this scenerio maybe whining is a "good" thing.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The more intensely you complain, the more likely they will listen.

Sure okay, I only managed to get to Level 9, I got off the Isle of Refuge and was always in the first town (Quenos or however you spell the city name) before SOE announced the beta was closing at noon on Saturday.
But on my AMD 2600+, 1 gig of double DDR ram and Geforce FX5900 128MB, the game was flawless.  At 1024x768 with graphics are High (Not Very High) it was flawless.  Maybe on a slower PC it will lag, but hey, that's normal.  We're at a gaming generation where anything under 1ghz as processor will be slow.
Okay so I'm off topic, but all this to say, whoever says EQ2 sucks cause of lag and bugs should either upgrade their PCs or they were playing in the first betas and 1 week before launch the game is perfect to release in stores and should of kept playing until the last week of beta to see the improvements.
Why am I buying EQ2 instead of WoW?  Simple... SOE was nice enough to make me a "last minute beta tester" winner, I tried the game before I bought it (gotta love the "Try before you buy" marketting strategy)... and not to diss Blizzard... but Warcraft 3 sucked and where in the world is Starcraft Ghost?  Again, WoW might be an amazing game, but I didn't try it.  And since all beta comments are 50/50, half people say it sucks, probably cause they are EQ2-fanboys and the other half say it's an amazing game, it's hard to chose.  And SOE did the smartest thing, to allow all Beta-tester applicants to test the game 1 week before it's released and it's coming out before WoW... EQ2 is the winner in my book.
So basically, those who will buy WoW are people that are Blizzard fans and EQ2 haters.  Those that will buy EQ2 today are EQ fans, WoW-haters, and people (like me) that played EQ2, know it's good, and don't have the patience to wait for WoW when they could be playing EQ2 now.

What the hell does this have to do with the topic of this thread...... This is like me posting how EQ2 is a complete failure since it only sold alittle over a 100,000 at game realease... Even FFX and COH was able to do better then that.

This patch is horrible nerfs to almost ever caster class, nerf's to leather armor (as if it wasnt weak enough) the death penalty is insane and for any that have participated in pvp and then had there body camped YOU will know what im talking about (Can you say PVP can  make you go broke). As if teaming wasnt alittle bit of a problem before now they discourage it even more since you have to PAY to buff your teammates!!!!!  Seriously I have seen alot of horrible patches *cough* COH, AO, PS and this ranks right up there with them..I have no idea what the Devs were thinking on this one, especially right before the OPEN BETA. Hopefully they come to there senses and NERF this patch.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
