I wonder how it compares to their Aeron which is what my last several chairs have been. Those things are amazing and run around the same price point.

That's a ridiculous name for a chair.  It would also be a ridiculous name for anything else other than a chair.

Looks really good, much more like a gaming chair than other designs I have seen, which I assume are aimed at teenagers. The lumber support was not designed for them either. :)

The name is interesting I must admit, I don't see it winning any awards for branding!

I got a Secret Lab chair recently and I love it. Wonder, though, if I should have held out for this.

This at least looks like it's trying primarily to be a good chair.  Some others that have been reviewed on this site look like they're trying harder to be a good decoration.

Wait, really? I guess prices in Europe are really messed up.
I paid 2,000 EUR for my Aeron. Granted, it's a bit more expensive in Mineral color and with polished aluminum, but still...

Yeah maybe used chair prices because Aeron start at around $1100 USD, unless he used a work discount program.

There's Aeron and then there's Aeron:

As for the price difference, Vantum is a different model and one that seems to be only available in the US and Canada. No idea where they manufacture their chairs, but the EU prices might be higher if they need to ship them here from the US, obviously. Also, the $795 price tag probably does not include tax, so there's that too.

Very timely article for me, as I am now looking for a new chair and HM was one of the brands I've had my eyes on (Embody looks mighty fine at first glance). Not really into gaming chairs, but they do have a good choice of what seem to be quality ergonomic chairs, so I might give them a try.

Some people complain about the hard plastic lip cutting off circulation to their legs after long periods of sitting in the Aeron as the mesh relaxes. I never experienced this issue in them, but I've since moved on to Steelcase Leap V2.

HM Mirra 2 is a similar chair to the Aeron but cheaper, with a bit more adjustments as they come in only one size. Stay away from the Embody as people have complained that they feel too hard and tend to squeak and creak. Another chair to consider coming this spring is the Steelcase Karman that is similar to Mirra but looks cooler and has some nice floaty seat pan. Also check out Haworth chairs like the Fern, people seem to widely regard that as a comfortable chair.

I am a scizo misanthrope. So one day I may go BANZAI on your post.
Have not yet though. Maybe there is hope?
Nah there is really none for me or the human race.

I have 2 friends who work as engineers who provide materials to HM for their chairs. Pro tip: stay away from those over priced pieces of garbage. Most of it is plastics and other over charged materials.

I have no idea who they get the hype that they do.

They have a long history. This chair is mostly plastic. But on the plus side, it has a ridiculously long warranty, so if it breaks, you're covered.
