    Actually, we're very fortunate that Perihelion is coming up on January 4. That's when the Earth is closest to the Sun. The Earth gets about 7% more sunlight in January than in July as a result of being so much closer to the Sun. That's why it has been so hot lately.

    I actually considered this, but since this article was written ahead of time, we don’t review things we haven’t played yet.

    Anyone else remember when this site used to have a holiday contest every year for a gaming rig? Most people who won actual regular users everyone knew, not this bot stuff like you see today.

    Way back in the days of Stradden. Good times indeed.

    Meh, He could be kind of a pain in the ass sometimes. Backstory is He had a zero tolerance policy over emu discussion, like you couldn't even type "emu" or emulator" or even "the project that can't be named" without a warning or potential ban. He could be fair sometimes, other times not. Back then maybe they were worried about getting sued by SOE or any other company over discussion of emulators or harm to the IP for being hypercritical of something...idk.

     In fact they created a special veteran forum for swg to segregate veteran players from the NGE players because they complained about our discussions around classic swg. You can probably still see those forums. In a way they kind of sided with the NGE players.

    We were not allowed to say anything bad about SWG, at all at one point. We got sick of it and a group of us just said, welp, we will go post elsewhere. So we did and created or own MMO discussion site; but found out quickly that moderation of content and posters on your own site isn't what it's cracked up to be and there are reasons you just can't have a free-for-all.  Over time they lightened up on that policy here so we returned.

     MMORPG.com has always had sponsored reviews; but again back in the day you would get dragged by the mods for saying anything bad about a game they reviewed, and they weren't as transparent about whether it was a sponsored article either. Theses days they actually don't stand in the way of most people reasonably expressing their opinion here.

    That's why I laugh at all the people these days who complain about what they consider harsh censorship on this privately run forum. Really the only difference between then and now is that less things are moderated as harshly, while the things that are cause some posters to complain more than ever because it's cool and edgy to do so now. It goes back to the old saying, if you don't like it, then leave, and don't make a thread about your departure either.
