There have been obvious signs that Fntastic has mismanaged one of the most wishlisted games on Steam. It's time for Steven to switch on the WTF machine, and get into how The Day Before completely eradicated their fanbase.

How the hell did Nvidia get involved with this? There has to be a game or they wouldn't partner with Fntastic, right? Someone had to see enough gameplay to ensure at least a decent quality or you'd think Nvidia would walk away. Maybe just being the most wishlisted on Steam was enough?
It's been a long time since MMORPG.com has GOOD articles like this, taking a real stand. It feels like advertising or how game companies will view things has been a motivator. I dont see Fntastic being a big player from here on out, which may be why y'all took the stand, but best piece I've read here in a an awful long time. Cheers man!
It's trademark not copyright that's the issue. I only bring this up to say it would be a much bigger deal if it were copyright as that would mean they had lifted someone else's code or assets. That's a harder thing to fix. Trademark is simply coming up with a new name, making sure you new name is available, and registering said new name. You can do this on LegalZoom.com in an few hours. The challenge, then, is rebranding everything, but still that all could be done in 2-3 weeks I would think. No reason to delay to November 2023 over trademark disputes unless you're going to go to court and sue someone over the name which I rather doubt they have the financial stomach to take on that battle with attorney fees costing $500 per hour.
We as paying gaming hobbyists as well as gaming sites need to temper our expectations and have the "I'll believe it when I see it" mentality.
It's been about 10+ years since I bought a game on the day it was released. I usually wait 6 months to a year before purchase.

Somehow I don't think that is going to happen here.
Red flags everywhere, thank you for this article. I must be a fool, i also bought warhammer darktide, when it launched, it still doesnt even have the promised core features, like crafting.
Red flags everywhere nowadays. wow.
So what they have is most likely a host of generic Unreal 5 environments, 2-3 character models with guns that makes noise when you shoot, and a couple of zombie models that dies if you shoot at them.
You can make a good trailer from that - but not much else

After the latest delay, I genuinely got CoE vibes from the announcement.
