It mentions it on the stream page but idk how it will be implemented. Open world pvp could mean anything.
These days you don't even know if a MMORPG is a MMO or a MO, so open world pvp could mean full loot, flagging, anything.

It sounds good but have we seen any concept art yet?

You jest perhaps, but when you think about it a lack of concept art does sort of support accusations that this team has been basically doing a Unity asset flip to put their game together for demos such as these.

The largest MMORPG in the world! Except for all the existing ones that are larger.

It works every time, 60% of the time...

Looks like it's developed by a new studio which was founded in 2021.

There's no way they'd have even half of the stuff shown in trailer ready unless their plan is to hype it as high as they can, launch a piece of shit, and run with the money.

Yeah it comes across as impossible for a company founded in 2021.  A lot of what was shown was in tiny corridors in the landscape, which seems to indicate some shenanigans.

It looks like something they would reveal to investors to fund a full game, not the public in general.

Well, the world looked really good.  The character walking around at a normal, not breakneck, pace was a refreshing change.  The combat seemed fast and very brutal, maybe a bit too dependent on fast reflexes and 'freeze the enemy' type effects.  I thought the 'world bosses' shown were too heavily ranged affairs; I couldn't see any character trying to get 'up-close and personal' with the boss.

It was all going well.  Then they showed some kind of card system.  I lost interest at that point.  Conclusion: maybe an MMORPG, but not something I'd want to play.

Well, saw Kira's take on it, slow motion combat, pvp everywhere kind of thing, it does mention pvp in an aside when it comes to seaborn gameplay, in that you can have encounters with monsters, pirates and other players. Then it moves on to something really surprising, time travel and maybe?  crypto? need a lot more information on this game to be released before can make anything like a judgement call, but already, there is one thing that is flagging up that may indicate the game is perhaps a bit suspect, Unity. They need to release a hell of a lot more gameplay and information about what kind of game it even is, before i would extend them even a modicum of trust, they sure haven't earned it yet.

As a demonstration of how good it looked in the video I could only think of two faults, that's nit picking for me. Firstly it seemed rather too culturally "from one culture" that may be just down to what they wanted to show and was not born out by the buildings, but I question if those more unusual building styles were lived in. Secondly, the ore looks like it is in big boulders randomly strewn among a forest, after being impressed with the biomes they talked so much about that was out of place.

That's nothing really, as I said nit picking, but it is only one video and as Kyleran mentioned we are taking a lot on face value.

I cannot understand how people still fall for this scams... A random indie company without any background, founded in 2021 showcasing a massive open world like this... The Day Before just finished scamming Steam, Nvidia and IGN and now this seriously?!?! When will players learn?

Saw a lot of Black Desert and Archage elements in that video. Interested to see how it turns out, but not holding my breath.

I think the time travel thing is weird. I would almost say that this is part of the whole unity store thing where they are just buying and using assets to expand what they would normally do. I wouldn't be surprised if that was cut.

found at about 10:23 in the video:

This is not the thread about AoC mate and you are turning into a one issue poster, I have concerns myself about AoC but try to pull back from the brink. :)

I have to ask, are you currently playing or planning to try Gloria Vicus as it comes out of early access on Feb 7th.

How about Foxhole, great write up on this site now on how it plays, almost got an old care bear like me interested in giving it a go.

I was actually fairly interested in both games due to their PvP.

I didn't like that Gloria Victus has no magic or any elements of fantasy. It seems like a medieval combat simulator.

Foxhole looked kinda cool, but I don't like the model of private servers that reset every 2 to 4 weeks.

I'm actually playing Archeage Unchained. No P2W and the fresh start servers are kinda nice to get new character up to speed without grinding for a year and a half. Populations are a bit low though. Their P2W model really turned a lot of people away.

I'd love an excuse to play DAoC again...

"Old care bear" my arse. :)

I hadn't noticed that bit about Foxhole having private servers, are there no "official" servers?

I didn't think there were private servers, my understanding is they were run by the devs, game is just reset regularly to start new campaigns.

That's fine then and the 2 to 4 week rule seems solid as well, you can see why they would want a regular reset, just a matter of how often.
