"When taking on the battles as a group, every player has to deal at least 1,000 damage to get the reward drops at the end."
1,000 is a meager amount. That's one attack with LS or VG maybe 2 or 3 for players under 60.
This is actually an excellent tweak from the current system where only the top X number of damaging players get credit for a kill that makes it so that you would need to get at least 20,000+ for credit.
Hopefully, they'll make that the standard requirement for any zergy open-world boss fight.
The one thing worthy of criticism by healers is that all the premium rewards are heavy or medium armor pieces and there is no unique LS or VG weapon in that batch of rewards.

I just hope it won't create a bunch of "leeches" who will just shoot a couple of arrows and then wait for all others to do the job...

So this event's rewards are basically useless to we who run light armor builds?

Unless they are BOE maybe? Could sell them then.
Well, at least there is a fire staff in there for you. There is 0 for my healer.
I doubt that they make them BOE.
The only promising thing is that there's a 10% chance of getting a named item from the Bromstone Sands pool as well as the rest of the zones each kill
The special daily cache also has 500 umbral shards and 1-3 world boss obsidian gypsum that takes 3 to make 1 orb.
So not a total waste but very underwhelming for a healer forced to wear light armor as we all are.

That's 1 LS attack which healers should be doing anyway to proc Intensify and CDR.
