I don't know why you talk about absolving the launch state. Yeah it was a train wreck. They could have abandoned it like a lot of games. Anthem anyone? No they stuck with it and turned it into something pretty amazing. So why harp on the launch state? They can't change that. How about a little forgiveness and let them move on with a pretty incredible title?
Funny this comes up cause I just got a better gpu so got cyberpunk ready for a first play through and looked into mods and got a nice list, made a guide on nexus like I usually do only to have a deleted 2 n half day later of full time work on it.
Apparently cause "its not a mod" so use their new "collections" and nexus don't want manual mod guides up on the site cause they want to peddle their damned Vortex mod manager. You need to install mods via vortex fix any conflicts and then use vortex to add to collections.. oh well....cyberpunk is still super fun even if nexus have taken a dive towards being arses.
After it was patched up, it became an amazing game.
Its still has quite a few bugs however there some mods to fix those
like for example the missing animation for the skippy quests and the
missiing audio in the hunt quest etc

I'd slightly disagree with that. Mass Efect (1-3 or legendary edition) is the best scifi on PC and frankly it tops even most mainstream TV/Movie scifi frankly. Cyberpunk has grown to be great indeed. But Mass Effect is something I'm not sure anything is gonna top that anytime soon or ever. The only thing I pray is that they don't clusteruck it up with the upcoming game the way they did with Andromeda.
Witcher 3 would like to have a word with this thread.
Also, i don't care how nice rayshading makes something look, it doesn't cover up poor game design.
Now before assuming i hate Cyberpunk 2077, i don't, I've played through it twice when it launched and was one of the lucky ones that had a fairly bugfree experience; -but there are bugs, and then there is unfinished/lazy game design.
Watch these two videos, and then come back and let me know if they ever fixed the things these two videos outline, because they are pretty major details that i feel like any intelligent gaming consumer takes notice of, and asks: "why on earth was this game launched with practically unfinished character modeling??"
Convince me that CDPR has fixed these small details and began caring about it's world building and simple things like water actually being believable when interacting with it, or climbing ladders without it looking like the character is just hovering vertically .

Yeah, replaying it for the past week or so as well. Pretty decent game. Looks gorgeous and nothing from the past 2 years come close visually (with RT-everything on). Story has annoying points but other than that it's a good game, waiting on the DLC and will probably purchase especially if it continues the main story because it ends in a sort of a cliffhanger but yeah that's probably left for Cyberpunk 2 or whatever.
Another feature no-one touts is the cross-platform saves. It's amazing being able to play on the PC and the Xbox after I come home from a long day of work and just want to be a couch potato. Launch the game, load the save, continue from where you left off on the PC. Quickhack builds with smart weapons are seriously OP.
I'm sort of on cross-roads lately. On one had, yes, Cyberpunk had a terrible launch (although I still clocked 150 hours at launch). It was in an era where we expected more from AAA games. Rightfully so.
However lately, games are becoming 70$/pop, subscriptions are rising in MMOs and we get NOTHING in return. As the article states - forspoken, calisto protocol hell even Hogwarts Legacy runs like an ass on PC but at least it's a decent game.
I'm seriously scared about the future of gaming. Videocard prices are through the roof. The midrage is starting at $600 ... this used to get you the top of the line GPU. And even with those GPUs, games run like donkey on the PC, be it due to Denuvo or some other crap. The games are uninspired to say the least.
...
Or am I just getting old? We'll see. 2023 seems poised with new launches. I hope I'm proven wrong. The xbox I mentioned earlier? I bought it as a protest to PC hardware pricing. So instead of a 4080 I bought an xbox and will continue to do so until things normalize. PC gaming is dead to me, safe for some older titles anyway.

I think he talks about it because it is part of the story. Without talking about the poor launch (I was a lucky one and didn't have many issues) you lose some of the context of the article. It's sort of like talking about NMS without talking about its launch.

Same. It has been a great game for me right from the start and it has only gotten better.
I do miss my totally broken quick hacks through walls' original build now that they patched that out though Now I have to bother actually entering buildings to slaughter everything

I am enjoying the game but the graphics are garbage compared to other ps5 titles. Not sure why people rave about it being groundbreaking with raytracing etc. Game play looks comparable to a ps4 title.

Probably because most people still are using their PS4s since one still can't just walk into a local store and buy a PS5 right off the shelf.
Heck, you can't even buy one online without paying scalpers outrageous prices or going to ridiculous efforts to track down when they are on sale somewhere for an hour or two.

Going to have to agree to disagree. I didn't find the main story satisfying. The side quest were even less satisfying with the exception of Skippy's quest, which was too short.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.

I got mine from Amazon without even wanting one on Jan 6th. It was an impulse buy. Paid the retail price. Not sure why people are having trouble buying them still.
