Amazon doesnt give up on their games They try to improve them even tho not always successfully but they do try I think we could do worse for a publisher
Two things...you do realize the publisher isn't developing it right?
Second of all, how are Crucible and Breakaway doing these days? (We won't mention the LOTRO MMORPG since that was beyond their control.) By your standards one for three is good? Interesting take on not giving up.
Actually I was thinking that AG will take this one too since NcSoft didn't released any plans for the West.
Diablo 4, Throne and Liberty, Blue Protocol .. man! Good year!
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
What they do with their games (New World, Lost Ark) is tp have monthly free bundles for Prime members with skins, materials, furniture, and sometimes even game currency.

Never understood the shade people throw at the publisher. The creative direction of the game still falls with the developer.
The game here is not the problem. Monetization will fall to Amazon. They have an established history of doing that porely. They don't know the balance of making people part with their money in a way that seems consensual. More like a slap in the face is their style.
Lost Ark works fine, I don't see why it would be different for T&L. The only thing I'm surprised about is that T&L seems to be a direct concurrent to their own New World MMO.
That's good news to me though. Looking forward to trying that game.
Both Throne and Liberty, as well as Lost Ark are games built around difficult group content, so those would be more in competition for the same type of player than Throne and Liberty, would be to New World.
Also if you're hyped about Throne and Liberty, but tried Lost Ark, and quit as it was filled with toxic elitist players, that gate kept you out of content you needed to do to make progress, then don't even bother with Throne and Liberty, as again, they're the same sort of game. It's the same with Blade & Soul, all three work around difficult group content, all three got hyped before launch quite a bit, all three will also likely have a huge population at launch resulting in long queue times, but all three will also no doubt lose a lot of players before long, as people find they just can't play it very effectively without a static group to do the all important difficult group content with.
Another one bites the dust. Won't even waste my money here. Love the Lineage franchise but it is incredibly greedy and I don't see how Amazon isn't going to make that worse.

Bro, we haven't even seen the monetization format yet.
Yes LA has bad monetization problems but Nw has my favorite paying method Its b2p with no sub and afaik cosmetics only cash shop (Im not 100% sure I only took a peak a couple of times but didnt see anything I would like to purchase) That makes me think that monetization falls on the developer and not the publisher because how can 2 games from the same publisher have such different models
Alas NW just started down the road to darkness with today's announcement of seasonal content and of course, premium battle passes for $20 a pop, 3 seasons per year.

T&L won't be a direct competitor to New World given it is a tab target MMO with a completely different look and feel. Same with Blue Protocol and Lost Ark.
well in this topic it says "An action combat MMORPG", but yeah with what they have shown i also think it is tab target
So what I read it is in fact a tab target mmo, however there will be movement based abilities and dodging. It sounds a lot like GW2 to me.
Some interesting ideas especially regarding shapeshifting and transformations. It's a typical fantasy world with humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, etc. Players can only be human, however, that's where transformation comes into play. Sounds like there is possibly to transform your race at some point. I'm going to guess it will be a faction grind or even cash shop.
This person made a compilation of what they noticed about T&L so far.

Looks a lot like a newer version of GW2 if this Soviet leak holds up.
HERE IS WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN:
*People want something Fresh, they will try out the game when it launches, maybe spend a few bucks.
*When the "Honeymoon Phase" is over, they see that this Game is EXACTLY like all other shitty South-Korean Games,
*Consisting of Daily Chores and Lottery Gameplay to keep up - they realize their old game wasn't so bad afterall and Quit.

I don't think South Korean games are "shitty" at all. At least no more than any other area's games.
They do work in horrible monetary practices but you can also find those practices in Western games.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

Looks more like Archeage to me with the far zoomed out camera shots and other shots do look like GW2. hmm thanks for the video
Ugh. I don’t like when western publishers put out eastern MMOs anymore. There’s always problems and you have to bring it back to the devs in Korea and the whole thing takes months to get the smallest issues fixed.
Asian MMOs not getting published in the west - bad
Eastern publishers publish Asian MMOs in the west - bad
Western publishers decides to publish Asian mmo in the west - bad.
Literally sometimes community not allowing to be satisfied is the only issue with this genre. ^^
I think some people would be fine with Amazon, but they have had a poor track record with managing bots and exploits in their current games. It exists in lots of games, but some of the exploits I've seen in NW and the amount of bots in LA has been a major hindrance to people. Lets hope this game is managed better and it doesn't turn into a shit show.
Management of bots is more a responsibility of the developers rather than publishers as it all starts with the game design.
Lost Ark is a botters paradise based largely on certain design decisions, i.e. F2P, not really under AGS control.
Yeps, NCSOFT needs to take care of the bots bfr anything else.
No more L2 nightmares.
