Is there a city sim type multi player game

I'm hoping someone can tell me of a city sim type game that multi player/mmo like. I remember the first iteration of city skylines (sim city type game) had an online market, but they couldn't to work, so they ditched it and just made it a single player. I'd even go with an online political sim that is multi player/mmo like. I enjoy that type of stuff as a companion to your basic kill'em type games.

It always struck me a great idea kind of like being on the same side in an RTS game. Dunno why no city building game has really done this yet.
There are some factory building ones like Factorio and Satisfactory with co-op and multiplayer.
