There are a shy more than 2 months until D4 releases. In this time I will play no MMO or such, as I want to be
ready for D4 grind!
So, just yesterday, I started to play Final Fantasy Tactics ( the PSP version ). I've never finished it despite started it a few times. After that I will go ahead and finish FF7 again, then FF9 and FFX-X2. This last 2 for the first time.
So what are you playing
? Any recommendation ?

If you end up liking tactics then you can try triangle strategy or tactics ogre. As for an ARPG itch (if you have one), D3's season started in february and will more than likely last until D4 release and it seems PoE is getting a new season next month. P5R is amazing (combat rise, turn-based) if you end up liking FF9/10 (P5R is on gamepass atm and you can definitely beat it once before the month is over). FF12 is different but can be enjoyable once you get used to the combat (kind of plays more like a mmorpg than the traditional turnbased ff in terms of combat).
Speaking of the '90s and since you know a thing or 2 about JRPGs, there was this game, which I played it back in .. '98 I think? On PS1. It was much like other JRPGs, but this one had a "combo" ..party thing, where you could do with your other chars. I tried to find the name of the game several times, but .. can't seems to find it. Your other 2 party of characters will all be shown that they follow you and not like in say .. FF7. Do you have any idea what game it might be?
About the ARPGS you mentioned, I "finished" D3 last season. Did the entire Atlas and for the first time ever, did a 150 GR solo and in group...finally! So I am kinda done with D3. PoE might be a good choice, but as I said, I will stay away from games like this to be ..ready for D4
I like F9 and F10. Started both, but never finish them. I plan to do so this time. I also played FF12 when it was first released, but ... they changed "everything" with it. so its not really my coup of tea.
Thanks for the recommendation!

While it..looks similar to some degree, no. I checked and this game came out in 2004 and I first played the one I described in .. '98 or so.

Yes, Tactics Ogre is indeed a product of the 90s, just like FFT. You can also play the PSP version, as you are the FFT version, or the newly released Switch version.
Also give Jeanne d'Arc a try on the PSP. I think it's one of the best Tactics games in the genre. May as well give the Star Ocean games a try for that Jrpg itch.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
Sorry for not responding, but I think Remali is right and you might be thinking of Legend of Dragoon for the ps1 (which was added to the ps store I think recently). As for Tactic Ogre, this one is the 'remake'/'remaster' with some changes that people debate is good or bad. Cheyane eluded to the Trails of series if you want a series that will keep you busy for A LONG TIMES lol. I know you said you weren't into mmos at the moment, but FF14 is also a good idea which you can play the game up to 60 for free and had a good story with most of the gameplay having a solo option up to then.
Was it scifi then Xenogears.
It had a combination of SF and Fantasy kinda. But yea, I think is Grandia. Thanks a lot!!

Oops they removed it from GoG so Steam I guess.
Ok. Still a bit less than 2 months until D4 early access, so .. next will be FF7 or FF9!
