Two years ago, Everspace 2 officially entered Early Access, which gave players an early look into the series's new space exploring approach. With the game's 1.0 launch now here, there's plenty to discuss before we blast off into the unknown for the first time. We spoke with Rockfish Games' Erik Schrader about the 1.0 launch last month at PAX East.

    An arcade-style shooter with 30-40 hours of gameplay, and no planetary exploration.

    Not for me really.

    I think, besides the shooting, it's more about mining and trading as well.

    I just don't understand games like this.  Far future spaceships guided by manual (inadequate) control.  Where are the sophisticated automated travel options for travel?  Give me a computer to program the ship operation.  I'm just not into driving around, especially in a 3D space.

    I did try the demo.  Flew around a bit, had to open 'doors' in an asteroid (with the F key at very close range).  Uninstalled immediately.
