"The Malaysian-based publisher seems to specialize in bringing back older IP and classic games in order to put a new spin on them."

    And have they been successful?

"The company also works with web3 and crypto companies"

I bought this game when it released. It's in my Steam library. Do I have to pay again to play it?

Might be the case. This is what ended up happening with Archeage Unchained. It was originally B2P and then got switched to P2P under a new publisher.

Not much of a survival game. Could not survive original launch, will not survive re-launch.

This going with a subscription model is interesting and I don't think it's inherently a bad idea. However, $19.99 per month is insanely expensive and very likely unsustainable. $9.99 at most would make sense to me, but this kind of game doesn't even have the scope and features to make it worth the $14.99/mo AAA sub-based MMOs charge.

If thats $19.99 USD as a Canadian, Im out. Im not paying $25+ a month for a sub, when Gamepass is $16.99 a month and gives me access to 400+ games. This will be a disconnect for most people.

I think the 'work around' they'll use is giving people who already bought some time. Kind of how archeage unchained originally gave previous buyers 'game time' after the switch.

I enjoyed Life is Feudal for the most part. I was a bit too difficult to do something like farming. I enjoy farming, but I needed someone specialized in this and that to farm. Got to be difficult. I'm a fan of grinding, but just too much. Don't know I'll go back, but I'll keep an eye, see what happens.

I am really skeptical about this going to work. Even solo friendly games have had hard times surviving subscription based business model. LiF has major flaw in concept. It to work you need to have a lot of players. If you don't have players, you don't have economy and without economy you don't have access to materials that you would need for X things. And they really think they can pull players counts with subscription based business model?

will be uniquely developed in cooperation with players for bug fixes and major product decisions based on community feedback

First red alert. Community feedback could be the worst that happens. "Gimme all and for free!", "This raid is too easy, you lamers! Make it last 500 hours with main boss having 999 trillion health and negating 99% damage dealt!", "Free speach, no censorship even for racism in chat!" - just to imagine a few.
Listen to community. Do it. Just do it with caution. Forums are almost always a safe heaven for fanboys and hardcore players, so any feedback could represent very small, yet too vocal group.

The company also works with web3 and crypto companies

So this is just scam company.

In short - looks really, really bad. Not sure if it would survive a year.

If this was a brand new MMO with great reviews they could think of £15, otherwise a no more than £10 a month sub is where you should be at.

I have no idea whether I'm correct or not, for I have no data, but it seems like subscription seems to be making a quiet comback. It seems that I see more games offering or straight out being subscription. I think people may be realizing that subs are cheaper than micro. However, I think, if this is the case, we'll see less MMOs because with subs, people won't be game surfing as much. Good or bad thing? Just an uneducated, no data, non peer reviewd observations from an amateur.

Whining aside, as anyone tried it, is it being played/are there people online, is it stable, is it a reputable company?

The old IP holder went bankrupt, so to revive the game, the new holder had to engage costs. Only makes sense that they charge.
