I think one thing people might want to be mindful of with this whole auto-battle thing is it'll probably have some kind of 'stamina' system (which seems to be a common theme in most of these Korean mmorpgs). For some, that sounds positive until you realize that most mobile games (which this is speculated to originally being) have work arounds to said 'stamina' system, like potions or outright paying to refill with premium currency. So even if people want to defend the auto-battle concept, dont expect to get it for free, or at least not the 'good' auto-battle system. They'll probably have one that does basic attacks and another that does all your skills etc.

WOW had no idea games used this type of payment model. Play a char and being locked out of skills unless I keep topping up the tank, would not be a game I would even consider. Does come down to what I have been wondering. How many system in this game is tied to auto combat?

Lots of games like this start out fun to get you hooked, but then become sit and wait games as you get higher in level as they appeal to your impatience. Break out the wallet or stop playing. I hope this isn't one of those. As for it originally being a mobile game no one knows that answer and that is pure speculation. All we knew was it was originally intended to be an isometric game game based on Linage series.

I answered in the negative too. Get rid of that shitty auto battle.

They could get rid of the auto battle and everything associated with it but that still wouldn't make a difference.

The game looks very dull. And nothing in the game looks like something I would want to spend my time doing.

Throne and Liberty is just a bad game, the auto battle mechanics only make it worse.

I think a lot of folks were hanging their hats on the PvP siege mechanics, and less the PvE. Maybe why the PvE side looks dull, it's not intended to fully be a PvE game

How I see it, its F2P. My investment will be time. I will not spend any money till...

    1. I like the game
    2. The cash shop is not heavy handed
    3. The game systems are enjoyable.

Maybe auto play is done in a new way I will love. Like you mention, maybe PvE is just the shuttle to get you to PvP. At this point, if it was not F2P, I am not sure I would play it till I read many peoples reactions here that I respect.

A lot of games have some sort of stamina system, but different games implement it very differently.  Some make it so that you can really only play the game for so much per day, but there's a huge difference between a cap of half an hour per day and one of ten hours per day.  Some make pretty much the entire game gated behind stamina, while others make only one or a few side activities require it.  And in the latter, it can sometimes be more of an exploit prevention mechanism than a real limitation on normal gameplay.

Can they afford not to release it? not suggesting the game is finished, but more of a 'sunk costs' kind of thing.
