    Same thing happened to their previous game, Dreadnought. Monetization was always the issue. Cycle was initially plagued by cheaters though, not sure if that had anything to do with the games demise or not.

    They changed an original concept into a clone in order to chase the audience of another game and are now suffering the consequences.

    This sort of low commitment "trash it and move on" take by studios and publishers is why I'm very picky about taking on any new GaaS games and generally treat them as throwaway.

    This was a fun game in Beta when it was more team focused and not just another battle royale clone.

    My friends and I had fun with this one. It’s not a battle royale clone at all. It is an extraction shooter. It had a nice concept, but as the article says, it was essentially killed by cheaters. At some point, we need to stop pointing fingers at these companies and lay it where it belongs. Pick an online game (especially a shooter): cheaters are ruining it. Anyone who says otherwise is either a cheater or a troll.

    Maybe it’s time for gamers to stand up against the companies providing the cheats.

    I'm just waiting for a F2P overhyped sandbox WoW clone with full PVP, epic raid bosses, instanced group content, and Crysis-quality graphics to come out. That, or something fun.
