Star Wars Galaxies' private Restoration server dropped its 1.1 update, bringing its Planetary Control mechanic to the MMORPG. The latest update allows players to take a meaningful part in the Galactic Civil War between the Empire and the Rebellion.

    Biggest issue with SWG is that it only really works if there's enough people playing.

    Aren't there a bunch of different SWG servers around or something? Wondering why this one is special.

    Population may be low, but the more they do the more players they will attract, so still good news.

    There are no official servers for
    SWG - it was shut down before Starwars the old Republic released

    - Yes, SWG: EMU, SWG: Legends, this one and I think a couple of smaller ones. 

    - This one is just the newest and they sent an announcment in to mmorpg .com so they carried the article.  As to why the devs think it's special; it's a mix of swg old version and NGE.

    SWG (pre-cu) - AoC (pre-f2p) - PotBS (pre-boarder) - DDO - LotRO (pre-f2p) - STO (pre-f2p) - GnH (beta tester) - SWTOR - Neverwinter

    I'm playing on one of the smaller servers and it's a lot of fun! Everyone knows everyone so it's a tight community and they're all about having a good time.

    So... what exactly does this SWG server offer that distinguishes itself from the multiple others?

    Aside from the generic, canned 'Reeeee bUt NcU bAaAd' followed by what I assume is the shitty 'Jedi are arbitrarily rare because lul' crap that pre-NCU had?

    My entire guild left this server because some players made a guild called "Death" to make fun of and harass a player who found out they had cancer and the devs did next to nothing about it.

    It's the toxic server that advocates bullying cancer victims. Woot Yall should check them out before posting on them and not like legends which actually doesn't support the bullying of cancer victims.

    Yea legends has a whole host of other issues. Like banning people for no reason, playing favorites, abuse of admin power the list goes on....all private servers are like this.
