Can I murder people and take their stuff?

I actually got a beta invite, so I'll take a look.
This may be a great way to relax.

Zero combat except hunting, even then they don't fight back. All prey.

Me and the wife are enjoying it. Lots of gathering, crafting, and exploring. Nice art style and interesting npcs. Not sure how long it will last but I got my money's worth already....since it's free. ;)

Really need some more zones and more interactions within those zones.
Being able to interact with furniture is a must also.
Have not played in about a week......so hoping to come back and see some Improvements.

The entire thing feels so clunky. Even now in open beta. It's also is as shallow as a puddle, so I'm not sure why I would play this over Animal Crossing.

Classes and combat is in the pipeline but does not seen any time soon looking at what in the up coming pipeline. This gives me the vibe that this game has much room to keep growing.

What's there is already just solid and fun. I can't wait to see where they take this. IMO it's refreshing.

It’s an excellent platform to build upon. Of course it’s a bit light on content now. How couldn’t it be? But what’s there is fun and chill (housing and exploring and crafting and relationship-building are all fun). My kid and I enjoy playing together.

Hopin for a decent game here, but (as others have said) I mirror my own thoughts. Most games nowadays, even good games are clunky and shallow. I'll wait awhile to see more, but (without playing) I need some good combat (not pvp). Gathering and crafting are my 2 Huge yesses nowadays....

The thing I like about this game is that it feels okay with not being for everyone. Most mmos today always feel like they're trying to have something for everyone, which sounds good on paper, but usually ends up failing in the end. I think one thing a lot of people talking about nostalgia miss is tha there were just niche mmos and it was okay to be that.

The thing about including "everything and the kitchen sink" in an mmrpg is that in order to make all those things feel relevant they kind of want the player to do them all too. That taxes my interest in a game after a while.

On the other hand, I want a list of features that aren't always all in a game. So, I put up with features other people want so I can get those I want. It's kind of a double-edge sword that one.

They have not said anything about combat in this game as you cannot die and classes won't work either.

Problem with the game is 2 years ago what was in the game then is 90% the same what we have now and no new actual content except some item bundle quest and this is worrying to everyone on their reddit and discord.

In LOTRO there are people who attempt (I believe successfully) to level without killing anything.  I'm not sure how far they get and I don't know the specifics.

That isn't my style of play; however, people who put these kinds of restrictions in place open up avenues for exploration that I wish more game developers would embrace.  Sometimes a restriction can foster some neat ideas.

Imagine a dungeon crawler where you don't kill anything - while such a game might not be feasible (or fun), just considering that line of thought for while is bound to generate some ideas that would be worth putting into a game.

Palia is going to explore the possibilities here, and I applaud the developers for doing that.

Harvesting and crafting is how. One can easily level to 20 and beyond just with cooking. If it's an alt you can twink them with resources and gold from higher level characters to make it easier.

Tried it for a few hours. They have a good foundation to build a game that is not for everyone. Will keep an eye on this but dont expect to make this a perma game one it releases. :)

My first gripe: you cannot delete your character once it is created. No way to change anything, like color, hair, sex, etc.

This sucks, because I usually create a generic character first, then explore the world some, and THEN decide what I want the character to look like.

    I've done this before.

I've handed off high level crafting items to a pure crafter and leveled myself out of entire areas without leaving town.

You craft a Wardrobe, put it in your house, interact F -> character changes
I had only a 1sec look, but you can change for sure the wardrobes :) and hair etc ..
