The Wayfinder team continued to work on stabilizing the servers and increasing capacity over the weekend. In a series of updates, they fixed some major bugs and increased stability, but they promise to do more ASAP.

For those playing please do confirm if server stability seems better, once you get in of course.

We're (i.e. me and my guild) are still being disconnected randomly once in game.
Server stability once youre in is fine, its the login issue and long queues that are the problem. I ACTUALLY played the game for like 10 hours now and the gameplay is fun, but the login issues are atrocious.
Launching a game that had millions of Engagements on its youtube channel, and a substantial following across social media with a 10,000 concurrency cap is bad, not even knowing the cap was there cos you never stress tested your servers prior to charging for access to them is just shambolic.
Such a promising game, it is being cut off at the knees by terrible management both on the development and the publishing side.
the issue is that isnt DOA , is more like
They got the cash.
Fixing server issues? Nope. Just put a cap on the server with a barely working queue system and leave it at that.
Screw everyone sitting in 10k+ queue all day. DC'ing left and right and back at the end of the queue again.
Trying to upgrade the database, but then having to roll back?
You gotta love it when they run these servers in the Cloud these days, which would make it ridiculously easy to scale up and/or add more servers. But I guess not these devs. They seem to be clowns at server design. /Facepalm
So let that sink in for a bit.
So glad I did not plunge into this and wasted my hard earned cash on this garbage!
Are you answering "No" to "Do you want to play as this character?". There's a bug right now that if you answere "No" that it'll kick you out. So pick a character you want to play for the tutorial and say "Yes".
If that's your issue.
I just signed into the queue today and it's flying, compared to last couple days. Still nowhere near what it should be of course. But at least there seems to be progress in what they're doing now that they're all back to work for the week.
Definitely one way to look at it. As you mentioned earlier though, people have been desperate for a mmorpg for some time now, to the point that even Bless Online was pulling the numbers this game has been in their first week.....as we all know how that turned out. Not to say that this will crash and burn like that but I wouldn't get my hopes up in thinking this 'success' is sustainable for long. Just my take though.
Once in play sessions were fairly stable.
I find it rather surprising this was an issue for them with all these closed beta tests prior.
I think someone on the steam forums was saying that the queue times are mainly an issue due to the devs changing to a 'flex server' type or something, that usually expands on demand, but seems to be doing so slowly. I dont know all the technical talk but it just sounds like its due to a recent change server side.

They pretty much shot themselves in the foot and it will be highly unlikely they recover from this.
Simply because they are still unable to add more capacity after 5 days now. Which is hilariously bad and will continue to add more and more negative review scores till they completely drown in it with no way out.
They only have themselves to blame with their sheer incompetence! They would have garnered way more goodwill from the players had they immediately paused sales of more founder packs, until they got the server capacity issue sorted.
But these devs just don't seem to care (or are just genuinely utterly stupid!) and only think about scamming people out of their money with these founder packs.
Welcome to the forums!
Sorry to hear about the angst, first posts always get a welcome.
Until you get disconnected and have to wait in the long queue all over again.
I also think the critical thing is that if it stays in the red for too long without improvement then steam will be forced to do blanket refunds like they have done in the past with low performing games.
