I'll be honest all of this sounds great. I do actually really like th egame but once you hit endgame, if you weren't up for the huge grind for perfect gear, the game didn't feel like it had much to offer. But the world is so beautiful and the leveling process actually fun, I might have to give it another go and check out the new locales and weapons. The artifact thing sounds really cool legendary weapons style.

I want to play with that flail on the PTR but Starfield won't let me.

Nice write up! I took a break after 1400 hours but wanted to come back when they add mounts. The revamp territory for FL is definitely needed and glad to hear they are addressing the last of the leveling quest line by end of year. I am guessing, but it feels like they will continue to revamp territories. Just a thought/

What is replacing The Expertise and Umbral upgrade grinds?

I was an OG on this game going back to spending countless hours in Alpha play. I played events with the devs as a content creator as well.

I really want the game to do well, and these changes are a hopeful sign. Yeh, as someone said above, Starfield is keeping me from caring alot right now. Hope I have some time to check out this game again in the future.

Does anyone have details on the gear and expertise revamp? Are they modifying it or finally doing away with that obnoxious end-game grind?

Expertise and Umbral grinds are going away. Gear is being revamped with a higher gear score, more loot biasing to make sure that loot is more meaningful and relevant, and they are adding Ancient Gear (Armor, Trinket, Weapons) to the end game loot tables.
