Everquest 3 incoming ?

Eg7 ( the owners of Daybreak) had an investors meeting yesterday, and announced that they are making EQ 3. They are targeting a 2028 release date, and it will have MTX. They are looking to retain a "hardcore" experience from classic EverQuest.


Daybreak has been saying this for years, and it will probably be delayed, or cancelled, but this does pipe my interest. I guess we just hope for the best.

    I don't want it to hardcore. Nagafen PVP was so hardcore, it died in like 6 months. I hope they make a EverQuest 3. Please don't bring back full loot though. It's a little to hardcore. I feel the kids these days are care bears and can't handle real PvP character building. Don't get me wrong, every item is a noun, cause there technically images, but even you guys have to admit, they don't have the same backbones as the original UO or EQ player base. Even faze players rage quit and cried all over YouTube about how hardcore EQ2 PvP was. Please take this into consideration.

    You could have played on the other servers. Everquest had all kinds of servers. There were also multiple types of PvP and PvE servers with different rules. I played when it launched and on a PvE server.

    Remember when Daybreak announced when they were working on Marvel mmo? Remember when Daybreak announced that the Marvel mmo they were working on got cancelled? I'll believe it when I see it at this point.

    Oh yeah, that was the Ashes of Creation sales pitch to Kickstarter. (6.5 years ago)

    Odds that this "Everquest" is Kickstarted?

    Who cares about EQ3?
    It would be made by a group designing the 'game' around locking the games content behind the cash shop paywall.  

    EQ3 from Daybreak would be like Diablo Immortal from Blizzard/NetEase

    No thanks.

    I want this to be awesome but expect it to be absolute misrotransaction infested trash that you can play on mobile with all the trappings of garbage modern game design. If it ever even makes it to the light of day.

    I'm betting I would still rather play P99.

    Let's not forget Daybreak shut down Landmark and cancelled Everquest Next plus released the massive failure that was Planetside Arena. Their track record speaks for itself. All I trust them to do is fail.

    Yep and seeing these owners. You can bet it will be a crappy run of the mill F2P game filled to the brim with MTX and loot/gamble boxes.

    That too. I don't even think they have any real development team either. So who is going to develop the game?  Magical pixies?

    I think it's just big scam/hoax, just to keep the investors happy.
