In older MMORPG , you normally see design were monsters was spawned depend on zone . For example in zone 1 spawned monster types A B C D , zone 2 spawned monster types C D E F , while zone 3 spawned monster type A B E F . Those monsters spawned randomly in the zone and don't have special spawn spot
Then we have spawn design that depend on quests , for example quest 1 require to kill monster B , then designer will place monster B spawn spot near quest 1 hub . Long to short , it's WOW ( or EQ ?) spawn design .
Personally i prefer zone type monster spawn , it give out feel like natural , while quests spawn feel like a designed park .

I'd like MOBs to move into other zones, unless they are zones they definitely don't habitate in. Or, have spawns spill over from one zone to another, as opposed to MOB movement.
Some semblance of what you'd expect in a world.
Once upon a time....
What would happen to my thinking is that they move outside of their zone and if they set up a "foothold", a base camp so to speak, bringing a new spawn point to that location. This could be a camp, a small cave settlement, a nest, or whatever fits the MOB type.
I could also accept a change of spawn affecting other zones, simulating movement.
The best would probably be a hopping of spawn points outward from starting zone when food and/or resources become scarce.
But there are things involved in movement that can add to game play and world goings-on that I think would appeal to players and make the world feel more alive.
I hate artificial barriers, and that includes zones. Bubble technology works well.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
"Don't spawn at my door, babe. I'm in my MMORPG."
